Two Women's Soccer Players Repeat as Athletes of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of October 18-24.

MEN'S SOCCER - OFFENSIVE
Webster University's Bryce Johnson, a senior from Chandler, Ariz. (Basha), has been named the Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of October 18-24.

Johnson, a forward, scored two goals in a 52-second span to lead the Gorloks to a 3-2 victory over Greenville College, who was previously unbeaten in Conference play. Johnson made only his second start of the season versus the Panthers, and the two goals brought his career total to nine.

MEN'S SOCCER - DEFENSIVE
Webster University's Tom Holmes, a senior from St. Louis, Mo. (Lindbergh), has been named the Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 18-24.

Holmes, a goalkeeper, started his first collegiate game as a senior and recorded the versus Greenville College. He played 90 minutes in goal and tallied a total of six saves. Holmes made several key stops in the second half as Greenville made a charge with seven shots and seven corner kicks.

WOMEN'S SOCCER - OFFENSIVE
Webster University's Christy Capkovic, a senior from St. Louis, Mo. (Mehlville), has been named the Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of October 18-24. This marks the second time this season that she has earned the honor.

Capkovic, a forward, recorded five goals, including one hat trick, in two games played last week. She had two goals in a 4-1 win versus Greenville College. Capkovic recorded a hat trick and the game-winner, with three goals in a 7-0 victory over Spalding University. The three goals against Spalding marked the 11th time in her career to achieve such a feat.

WOMEN'S SOCCER - DEFENSIVE
Principia College's Cristina Post, a sophomore from Malibu, Calif. (Principia Upper), has been named the Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 18-24. This marks the second time this season that she has earned the honor.

Post, a left back defender, helped the Panthers to a 2-1 record last week. She tallied four assists, including three assists in a 5-1 win over Eureka College. She also helped Principia record their eighth shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory versus Blackburn College.

"Against regionally ranked Concordia-Moorhead, Cristina [Post] showed great composure on the ball, connecting passes and dribbling into the attack all while under constant pressure from her opponents," commented head coach Lee Ellis. "She was very aggressive when it came to making tackles, winning air balls and stepping into the attack."

VOLLEYBALL - OFFENSIVE
Principia College's Devin Sinner, a freshman from Richland, Wash. (Principia Upper), has been named the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the week of October 18-24.

Sinner, a middle blocker, had 23 kills, five blocks and a .571 attack percentage in three matches played last week. She had five kills and one error on six total attempts for a .667 attack percentage in a 3-0 win versus Eureka College. Sinner had a .600 attack percentage, adding seven kills and two blocks in a 3-0 victory over Fontbonne University. She ended the week with 11 kills, two blocks and a .526 attack percentage in a 3-0 win against MacMurray College.

VOLLEYBALL - DEFENSIVE
MacMurray College's Rikki Jenkins, a senior from Virginia, Ill., has been named the Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 18-24.

Jenkins, an outside hitter, tallied 47 digs total in three matches played last week. She had 29 digs and added 15 kills, two service aces and four blocks in MacMurray's 3-2 win versus Fontbonne University. Jenkins also recorded double digits in digs with 12 against Principia College.
