Principia's Zimmerman Repeats as Men's Basketball Player of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the men's and women's basketball athletes of the week for the week of November 29-December 5.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Principia College's Todd Zimmerman, a senior from Nashville, Tenn. (Hume-Fogg), has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 29-December 5. This marks the second consecutive week that he has earned the honor.

Zimmerman, a 6-2 guard, shot 55.6 percent from the field, 55.6 percent from behind the arc and 84.6 percent from the free throw line, while averaging 36 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 6.0 assists per game last week. He scored 38 points, grabbed nine rebounds and tallied five assists and four steals in a 90-87 victory on the road at Eureka College. He was 9-of-16 (.563) from the field, 6-of-9 (.667) from three-point range and 14-of-16 (.875) from the charity stripe in the win.

In an 84-83, buzzer-beater loss to Fontbonne University, Zimmerman recorded 34 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and three blocks. He shot 11-of-20 (.550) from the field, 4-of-9 (.444) from three-point range and 8-of-10 (.800) from the free throw line.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Westminster College's Liz Klaffenbach, a junior from Battle Ground, Wash. (Prairie), has been named the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 29-December 5.

Klaffenbach, a 6-1 post player, averaged 17 points and seven rebounds in two Westminster wins last week. She recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 76-68 victory over Fontbonne University. Klaffenbach shot 7-of-10 (.700) from the field and a perfect 3-of-3 (1.000) from the charity stripe in the win. She added 17 points and four rebounds, while shooting 11-of-12 (.917) in a 79-64 win versus Spalding University.
