Fontbonne Raises Awareness, Money for American Cancer Society

ST. LOUIS - Members of the Fontbonne University men's and women's basketball coaching staffs participated the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Awareness Weekend this past Saturday (Jan. 29) during their games against Principia College.

The coaches laced up their sneakers with thier suits during this weekend's game to help raise awareness for the American Cancer Society. This was the seventh annual awareness weekend in which collegiate and high school coaches from across the country participated in.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a collaborative initiative of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers coaches, their teams and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

In addition to coaches visual support, the Fontbonne athletic department raised more than $600 for the American Cancer Society during Saturday's event.
