104 Student-Athletes Named To Spring All-Academic Team

ST. LOUIS - One hundred four student-athletes have been named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Academic Team. The recipients were varsity members of their school's baseball, softball, men's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track & field or women's track & field squad for the Spring 2011 season. Other selection criteria include: (1) Minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, (2) At least sophomore academic standing and (3) Have at least one full year at current institution (first year transfers and true freshmen are not eligible).

Thirty-one student-athletes named to the Spring All-Academic Team were also recipients of the honor this past Fall or Winter. This marked the first year that track & field student-athletes were awarded Academic All-Conference honors, and seventeen of the 31 student-athletes to earn the honor twice this year were cross country/track & field athletes.

The two-time recipients include Blackburn College's Amanda Orzechowski, Eureka College's Nathan Pritzker, Fontbonne University's Bill Boxdorfer, Ethan Kristek and Mike Horn, Greenville College's Cole Prins, Ethan Ford, Evan Teiwes, Michelle Sutton, Ross Baker and Trevor Thompson, Principia College's Andrea Raffles, Calvin Nyapete, Cameron Wells, Jacob Meier, Kevin Hagenlocher, Nicholas Larsen and Todd Zimmerman, Spalding University's Liz Schooler, Webster University's Agustin Villalba, Amanda Arcangel, Blake Harris, Dan Henkey, David Koppelmann, Josh Sellmeyer, Maria Arias, Robby Meeh and Tori Fenemor and Westminster College's Courtney Darkow, Dan Hohenstein and Kim Petiford.

A total of 249 student-athletes received SLIAC All-Academic honors this year, 32 of which earned multiple honors. Greenville College led all Conference schools with 52 total All-Academic honors, six of which were two-time recipients. Webster University was next with 42 All-Academic honorees, nine of which were two-time recipients, and Principia College was right behind with 40 total and seven two-time recipients.
