Eeten Grabs Fourth, Whittingham Takes Second Player of the Week Honor

St. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the men's and women's basketball athletes of the week for January 9-15.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Webster University's Stefan Whittingham, a sophomore from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., has been named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 9-15. It marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

Whittingham, a 6-3 forward, averaged 20.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and shot 59.5 percent (25-of-42) from the field, 50.0 percent (4-of-8) from three-point range and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line in three SLIAC games last week. He started the week with a double-double in a 99-83 win on the road at Eureka College. Whittingham scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while shooting 11-of-22 (.500) from the field and 4-of-6 (.667) from behind the arc. He also dished out five assists and added one steal in the win.

Whittingham recorded 18 points on 7-of-10 (.700) shooting and tallied five rebounds in a 74-65 victory versus MacMurray College. He finished the week with another double-double in a 96-86 win over Principia College. He had 15 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Eureka College's Caty Eeten, a sophomore from Eureka, Ill., has been named the Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of January 9-15. This marks the fourth time this season that she has earned the honor.

Eeten, a 5-10 guard, averaged 30.0 points and 7.0 rebounds as the Red Devils went 2-0 in conference play last week. Eeten scored 28 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists in an 81-62 victory versus Webster University. She shot a perfect 12-of-12 from the charity stripe and finished 8-of-15 (.533) from the floor. Eeten topped that performance with 32 points on 12-of-17 (.706) shooting from the field, seven rebounds and two assists in a 79-63 win against Fontbonne University.
