124 Student-Athletes Named To Spring All-Academic Team

ST. LOUIS - One hundred twenty-four student-athletes have been named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Academic Team. The recipients were varsity members of their school's baseball, softball, men's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track & field or women's track & field squad for the Spring 2012 season. Other selection criteria include: (1) Minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, (2) At least sophomore academic standing and (3) Have at least one full year at current institution (first year transfers and true freshmen are not eligible).

Thirty-four student-athletes named to the Spring All-Academic Team were also recipients of the honor this past Fall or Winter. Twenty of the 34 student-athletes to earn the honor twice this year were cross country/track & field athletes.

The two-time recipients include Blackburn College's Brandon Roberts (Men's Basketball & Men's Golf), Eureka College's Nathan Pritzker (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Nathan Mullins (Men's Soccer & Men's Track & Field), Rachel Funk (Women's Soccer & Women's Tennis), Erika Thomas (Women's Soccer & Women's Track & Field) and Trevor Teal (Men's Basketball & Baseball), Fontbonne University's William Boxdorfer (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Jessica Brock (Women's Cross Country & Women's Track & Field), Marielle Counts (Women's Cross Country & Women's Track & Field) and Alyssa Tonner (Women's Cross Country & Women's Track & Field),  Greenville College's Josh Dees (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Nathaniel Young (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Ross Baker (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Trevor Thompson (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field) and Carisa Wilson (Women's Cross Country & Women's Track & Field), Principia College's Alan Cheatham (Men's Soccer & Baseball), Nathan Boyer-Rechlin (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Greg Fleming (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Samuel Nickell (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Richard Harper (Men's Soccer & Men's Track & Field), Kynan Witters-Hicks (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Paul Sanderude (Men's Soccer & Men's Tennis), Casey Powell (Women's Cross Country & Women's Track & Field) and Haley Morton (Women's Cross Country & Women's Track & Field), Spalding University's James Borengasser (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field) and Liz Schooler (Women's Cross Country & Softball), Webster University's Agustin Villalba (Men's Soccer & Men's Tennis), Amanda Arcangel (Women's Basketball & Women's Track & Field), Daniel Henkey (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), David Koppelmann (Men's Cross Country & Men's Track & Field), Gretchen Rieger (Volleyball & Women's Track & Field) and Josh Sellmeyer (Men's Soccer & Men's Tennis) and Westminster College's Sarah Koestner (Women's Cross Country & Women's Track & Field) and Sarah Ogar (Women's Soccer & Women's Track & Field).

A total of 308 student-athletes received SLIAC All-Academic honors this year, 36 of which earned multiple honors. Greenville College led all Conference schools with 67 total All-Academic honors, five of which were two-time recipients. Webster University was next with 50 All-Academic honorees, six of which were two-time recipients, and Principia College was right behind with 48 total and nine two-time recipients.
