Westminster’s Allen and Lutz Named To 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District Teams

Fulton, Mo. - Two Westminster Blue Jays were selected to the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District Basketball Teams.

Taylor Allen (Freeburg, Mo. /Fatima) was placed on the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team. Allen, a junior biology (pre-med) major, holds a cumulative 4.0 while also participating on the Men's Basketball team. Allen has been an active participant of the Men's team since becoming a freshman in 2010.

Leigh Ann Lutz (California, Mo. /California) was placed on the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team. Lutz, a junior biology and exercise science major, holds a cumulative 4.0 while also participating on the Women's Basketball team. Lutz has been an active member of the Women's Basketball team for three years while also excelling in the classroom. At the beginning of the 2012 season, she encouraged the Westminster Women's Basketball team to actively volunteer in the Fulton community during the season.

The members of the Capital One Academic All-District Teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
