139 Student-Athletes Named To Spring All-Academic Team
ST. LOUIS - One hundred thirty-nine student-athletes have been named to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Academic Team. The recipients were varsity members of their school's baseball, softball, men's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track & field or women's track & field squad for the Spring 2013 season. Other selection criteria include: (1) Minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average, (2) At least sophomore academic standing and (3) Have at least one full year at current institution (first year transfers and true freshmen are not eligible).
Forty-two student-athletes named to the Spring All-Academic Team were also recipients of the honor this past Fall or Winter. Twenty-three of the 42 student-athletes to earn the honor twice this year were cross country/track & field athletes. Danielle Smulczenski, from Westminster College, was the lone three-time All-Academic honoree this year, earning honors in women's cross country, women's basketball and women's track & field.

A total of 330 student-athletes received SLIAC All-Academic honors this year, 45 of which earned multiple honors. Greenville College led all Conference schools with 67 total All-Academic honors, 11 of which were two-time recipients. Principia College was right behind with 65 All-Academic honorees, 12 of which were two-time recipients. Westminster College had 54 honorees, including the lone three-time recipient and six two-time recipients, while Webster University had 51 honorees, with seven two-time recipients.
