Webster Volleyball, Soccer Teams Chicago-Bound for NCAA Tournaments
ST. LOUIS - The Webster University women's volleyball, and men's
and women's soccer teams, all will play in NCAA III Regionals in
the Chicago, IL area, starting on November 9. The three teams
won St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, in
a thrilling 24-hour stretch on Nov. 2-3, gaining automatic berths
to the NCAA III National Championships. The Webster
women’s volleyball team will play at Elmhurst College, men's
soccer at Dominican University, and women's soccer takes on Wheaton
College. This is the second time in four years all three
teams have garnered spots in the NCAAs, the first time in 2009.
VOLLEYBALL
The Webster University women's volleyball team will travel to
Elmhurst College (29-7) to take on the Blue Jays in NCAA III
Tournament first round action, on November 9. at 8:00 p.m.
Webster defeated Greenville College on the road in straight sets,
3-0, to take the SLIAC Championship for the second year in a row,
and the sixth time in seven years. Jenny Howard (SO, Duchesne
HS, MO) was the 2012 SLIAC Player of the Year and the Most Valuable
Player of the SLIAC Tournament. The Gorloks are 24-9, and
winners of 16 of their last 17 contests. The complete NCAA

MEN'S SOCCER
The Gorloks downed Westminster College, 2-0, on Nov. 3, as forward
Pat McCaffrey (SO, Bishop DuBourg HS, MO) scored both goals for
Webster. Goalkeeper Brian Woodward (SO, Eureka HS, MO) had his
eighth shutout on the season. McCaffrey was the Most Valuable
Player of the SLIAC Tournament. The men will play at
Dominican University (16-2-1) on November 9 at either 11 a.m. or
1:30 p.m. Webster is 9-1-1 in its last 11 contests. You

WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Webster women’s soccer team defeated Greenville College,
1-0, on Nov. 2 for the championship. The Gorloks are 16-5 on
the season, allowing only giving up 10 goals in those 21
contests. Goalkeeper Jessica Davis (SO, Belleville West HS,
IL) has 14 shutouts on the season and a 0.47 goals against
average. Davis was ninth in the NCAA III in 2011 as a
freshman with a 0.42 goals against average. Ally Nikolaus
(JR, St. Joseph’s Academy, MO) was the Most Valuable Player
of the SLIAC Tournament and the Gorloks leading scorer for the
season, with 11 goals and 10 assists. Webster
will face Wheaton College (17-3-2) on November 9 at 11:00
