MacMurray Athletics Facilities See Improvements

Jacksonville, Ill.- MacMurray College athletics has completed several different projects involving various athletic facilities debuting this Fall.

A brand new scoreboard will appear on campus in the outskirts of both Timm Field and the soccer field. The past dual scoreboard had been in use for over 10 years. The new scoreboard, consisting of dimensions 16 feet by 10 feet, will allow spectators to easily view game details and scores. The scoreboard contains features such as LED lighting, Highlander signage, and minute and second displays for soccer.

The inside of the lobby of the Bill Wall gymnasium has seen new and vibrant improvements. Pictures of selected student athletes representing all ten athletic teams as well as NCAA, UMAC, and SLIAC logos were hung on the walls circling the entrance to the gym.

"We are excited about the investment in our athletic facilities because it certainly corresponds with the positive momentum of MacMurray. The Highlander Points of Excellence Campaign has been extremely beneficial for our student-athletes. Everyone associated with the Highlander Department of Athletics is proud of the additions and what they represent", said athletic director Dane Pavlovich.

Renovation of Palmer field, home of the MacMurray College softball team, has continued as the infield received a facelift with new turf. A new drainage system was installed in the outfield to aid in the removal of water that previously plagued the field during unfavorable weather conditions. The MacMurray College baseball field received new turf infield conditioner as well.

The MacMurray College football offices have been refurnished with fresh wooden flooring, contemporary desks, and additional work stations suitable for the entire Highlander football coaching staff.

All new implementations were made possible by the Highlander Points of Excellence campaign.
