MacMurray's Radford, Principia's Sydness Capture Player of the Week Honors
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of February 4-10.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Principia College's Kenny Sydness,
a junior from Wellesley Hills, Mass. (Wellesley), has been
named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of
February 4-10.
Sydness, a forward, scored 36 points on 13-of-24 (.542) shooting from the field, including 2-of-6 (.444) from three-point range and a perfect 8-of-8 (1.000) from the charity stripe as Principia suffered an 88-77 loss to MacMurray College last week. He also added nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block in the effort.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
MacMurray College's Amy Radford,
a senior from Pana, Ill., has been named the Women's
Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 4-10.
Radford, a forward, averaged a double-double in two SLIAC games played last week with 12.0 points and 16.0 rebounds per game. She scored 12 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out three assists in a 51-50 win over Spalding University on the road. Radford finished 4-of-7 (.571) from the field, including 1-of-2 (.500) from three-point range and 3-of-4 (.750) from the charity stripe. She added 12 points and 17 rebounds in a 66-39 victory versus Principia College. She shot 5-of-10 (.500) from the field and went a perfect 2-of-2 (1.000) from the free throw line, while also recording three assists, three steals and one block.
