Spalding Sweeps Final Baseball Player of the Week Honors

St. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Athletes of the Week for the week of April 29-May 5.

BASEBALL - HITTER
Spalding University's Ryan Mosby, a freshman from Louisville, Ky. (St. Xavier), has been named the Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 29-May 5.

Mosby had a .600 average at the plate in three games played last week. He finished the week with six hits, three doubles, two RBI, a .900 slugging percentage and a .692 on-base percentage. Mosby went 2-for-4 with one double in a 3-1 victory versus non-conference opponent Mt. St. Joseph. He then hit 3-for-3 with one double and two RBI as the Golden Eagles defeated Fontbonne University 8-1 in game one of a double header. Mosby added a double and one run scored in game two of the twinbill, in which Spalding won 10-2.

BASEBALL - PITCHER
Spalding University's Wes Phan, a freshman from Louisville, Ky. (Ballard), has been named the Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 29-May 5.

Phan went 1-0 on the mound last week with a 10-2 victory versus Fontbonne University. In 8.0 innings on the mound he struck out five batters while allowing six hits, four walks and zero earned runs.
