Game at a Glance
Saturday's softball double header between Westminster College and Greenville College features two undefeated teams in the SLIAC. Games are set for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 in Greenville, Ill. Westminster begins the week with a 5-3 overall record and are 4-0 in the SLIAC while Greenville is currently 9-5 overall and 2-0 in the SLIAC.

About Westminster
Westminster has opened the season with four straight conference wins after sweeping both Iowa Wesleyan and Blackburn in double headers. Westminster was picked third in the 2014 SLIAC Preseason poll and are scheduled to face Texas-Dallas and Centenary in games this week before this weekend's contests against Greenville.

Westminster is hitting .302 as a team this season, seventh best in the conference, and averaging 5.0 runs per game. The Blue Jays feature five hitters that hold at least a .300 batting average with Anne Baker leading the way with a .368 mark. Senior outfielder Lori Jones, Second Team All-Conference last season, is tied for the team lead with eight hits and leads the team with nine runs scored and five stolen bases. In the circle the Blue Jays are led by current SLIAC Pitcher of the Week, Brittany Lee. Lee has started seven of eight games for the Blue Jays and holds a 3.33 earned-run average with 35 strikeouts in 42 innings pitched.

About Greenville
Greenville is on a four game winning streak as well after sweeping Emmanuel and topping conference foe Spalding in a double header. Greenville, who has picked seventh in the preseason poll, is scheduled to face Eureka this week before their games against Westminster.

Greenville is hitting .337 as a team, third best in the SLIAC. The Panthers are averaging 6.2 runs per game this season and have hit the second most home runs in the conference this season with six. Tiffany Samsoe is hitting .333 with two home runs and five runs batted in while Bryn McKie is coming off a series against Spalding in which she went 6-for-9 with four runs scored and three stolen bases.

  • Greenville has scored the second most runs overall this season, with 92, while Westminster has allowed the second fewest runs, 42.
  • Greenville leads the all-time series against Westmisnter 21-13. Westminster stopped a seven game losing streak in the series with a 3-2 win in their last meeting.
