Spalding's Hayes Tops 1,000 point mark
Spalding University senior point guard Kerstin Hayes becomes only the second player in school history to score 1000 points and pass out 270 assists.
Hayes became only the seventh player in school history to score 1000 points when she knocked down a three-pointer at the 15:29 mark in the second half against Eureka College Thursday night. Hayes currently sits at seventh on Spalding’s all-time scoring list with 1004 points.
Kerstin also recorded her 270th career assist, moving her into a tie for second on Spalding’s all-time career assist leaders.
Danielle Burden, a class of 1995 graduate, is the last and only other Spalding women’s basketball player to reach 1000 points and 270 assists.
