SLIAC Players of the Week - Nov. 18th

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced the Players of the Week for November 18th. This week's winners are Brady Slagle, men's basketball player from MacMurray College, and Kelsey Shoemake, women's basketball player from Eureka College.

 

 

 

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Brady Slagle, MacMurray College

Slagle, a senior forward from Winchester, Ill., picked up MVP honors in the Webster Cavallo Classic this past weekend after recording a pair of 20 point games. Slagle netted 24 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, adding four assists and three steals, in his team's season opening win; a 72-72 victory over Rust. He followed with 25 points and eight rebounds in his second outing. For the week Slagle averaged 24.5 points and 12.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 53-percent from the field.

   
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Kelsey Shoemake, Eureka College

Shoemake, a junior forward from East Peoria, Ill., started the season off with a double-double performance in her teams 51-48 win over Lawrence. Shoemake scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win, adding a career-high five blocked shots and two steals. Shoemake finished 5 of 10 from the field and went 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.

SPECIAL MENTIONS

  • Marious Lobdell, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Lobdell scored a team high 27 points in his Red Devil debut, adding eight rebounds and four assists.
  • Courtney Pursley, Webster University (Women's Basketball) Pursley recorded a double-double in her team's win over Nebraska-Wesleyan with 16 points and 11 rebounds while being named Tournament MVP.
