SLIAC Players of the Week - Dec. 16

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week for December 16. This week's winners are Seth Wickert and Caty Eeten, both from Eureka College.

 

 

 

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Seth Wickert, Eureka College

Wickert, a junior guard from Macomb, Ill., put together an oustanding all around performance last week in helping his team to a pair of wins. Wickert started the week with 16 points, six assists and five rebounds in a win over Lincoln Christian. He upped his performance in an overtime win over Webster, scoring 23 points while adding eight rebounds and four assists. On the week Wickert averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists with 1.5 steals per game. He shot 56.5 percent from the floor and hit on 7-of-12 three point attempts while committing just three turnovers. This is the second time this season Wickert has earned Player of the Week honors.

 

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Caty Eeten, Eureka College

Eeten, a senior guard/forward from Eureka, Ill., tallied back to back 20 point games for the Red Devils last week. Facing an NCAA Division I foe, Nebraska-Omaha, Eeten scored 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting while grabbing five rebounds. Eeten followed with 29 points in a 70-67 win over Webster, adding nine rebounds and six assists. For the week Eeten averaged 27.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. She shot 51-percent from the field and was 11-of-13 from the free-throw line.

 

SPECIAL MENTION

  • Courtney Pursley, Webster University (Women's Basketball)- Pursley recorded her third double-double of the season; recording 18 points and 12 rebounds in a conference contests against Eureka College last week.
