Principia Baseball hosts Pere Marquette Youth Center for clinic

ELSAH, ILL. -- The Principia College Panthers invited youth from the Pere Marquette Youth Center to watch the Panthers play a double header against Illinois College. The youth center brought eleven young men who thoroughly enjoyed watching the Panthers split with Illinois College.

The captains and seniors helped run the clinic and it started out with introductions and then the baseball team and the Pere Marquette youth went through a team warm-up and stretch. The players then played catch with the Pere Marquette youth and showed them how to grip a baseball and proper throwing mechanics.

After playing catch the Pere Marquette guys were split up into three groups and players ran them through fielding, hitting, and pitching drills and mechanics. After each group participated in each activity the clinic ended with a game of line drive baseball. The Pere Marquette guys showed off their hitting abilities and really enjoyed playing the game.

After the game the players and Pere Marquette guys enjoyed pizza. It was a great afternoon and both the players and Pere Marquette youth had a blast!
