SLIAC Players of the Week - March 9

This week the SLIAC recognizes the first full week of spring sports as six student-athletes earned the conference's Player of the Week honors. This week winners are Connor Hager, Alyson Hahn, Marissa Lewis, Will Miller, Kim Morrison, and Code Power.

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS BASEBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
Connor Hager, Westminster College

Hager, a sophomore infielder from Jefferson City, Mo., helped his team open the season with a sweep of Nebraska Wesleyan. Hager went 5-for-6 in the double header, driving in five runs. In game one Hager was 2-for-2 with two runs batted in as the Blue Jays took the game 9-3. He then went 3-for-4 in the nightcap with a home run and three runs batted in. Hager finished the weekend with five hits and five runs scored in two games, hitting .833 with a 1.667 slugging percentage.

 

SLIAC/DIAMOND SPORTS BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Will Miller, Westminster College

Miller, a junior from Oakville, Mo., is the SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week after recording a win in his only outing last week. Miller pitched a complete game, going five innings and allowing just two runs on six hits with four strikeouts.

 

 

 

SLIAC SOFTBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
Kim Morrison, Westminster College

Morrison, a freshman infielder from Buffalo, Mo., made her collegiate debut this weekend as the Blue Jays played in five games. Morrison picked up four hits including three doubles during game action, adding one run scored and one stolen base. On the week she finished with a .364 batting average and a .636 slugging percentage while getting on base at a .417 clip. Her top performance was a 2-for-3 game against Briar Cliff in which she added a run scored.

 

 

SLIAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Alyson Hahn, Westminster College

Hahn, a sophomore from O'Fallon, Mo., earned SLIAC Pitcher of the Week honors after making three starts for the Blue Jays. Hahn allowed just 15 hits over 17.2 innings pitched while recording 14 strikeouts. Hahn's top outing came against William Woods, in which she suffered a 2-0 loss, but held opposing hitters to just two hits over six innings while recording seven strikeouts. She finished the week with a 3.17 earned-run average and threw two complete games.

 

 

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Code Power, Greenville College

Power, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., went undefeated over the weekend with both a singles and doubles win in his team's match against Franklin. Power won 7-5, 6-4 over Luke Snyder in singles action and followed with an 8-6 win at doubles with the help of Justin McDonald. Power improves his overall record this season to 4-1.

 

 

 

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marissa Lewis, Webster University

Lewis, a senior from Owasso, Okla., had an impressive weekend on the court going 3-1 overall. Lewis won each of her singles matches and added a doubles victory. Against Lindenwood-Belleville Lewis breezed through her singles match with a 6-2, 6-3 win. She followed with a 6-0, 6-4 win in her team's match against Randolph. In addition Lewis teamed with Kaylen Kress to pick up a 9-8 double win.
