SLIAC Players of the Week - March 30

DIAMOND SPORTS/SLIAC BASEBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
Patrick Shuff, Fontbonne University

Shuff, a sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., is this weeks Diamond Sports/SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week. Shuff was instrumental in helping the Griffins remain undefeated in conference play with a pair of double header sweeps. Shuff hit .545 on the week with a .909 slugging percentage and added six runs batted in. Shuff heated up as the week went on, going 5-for-5 in Sunday's games against MacMurray including a game tying home run in the seventh inning of game one. On the week Shuff went 6-for-11 at the plate with four runs scored and a .647 on-base percentage. In addition, the catcher, threw out four players attempting to steal a base.

DIAMOND SPORTS/SLIAC BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jimi Keating, Spalding University

Keating, a freshman from Bardstown, Ky., started the week in the same fashion he ended it, with a strikeout. Keating entered a game against Thomas More in relief, striking out the only batter he faced. Then in a marathon 15 inning game Keating came on in relief once more. This time he worked 7 2/3 scoreless innings allowing just two hits while striking out 10 batters. With his 10th strikeout, Keating ended the game, and helped Spalding set a NCAA Division III record for strikeouts in a game as the Golden Eagles recorded 26 strikeouts. For the week Keating worked 8 innings and allowed just two hits while striking out 11 and walking four.

SLIAC SOFTBALL HITTER OF THE WEEK
Tiffany Samsoe, Greenville College

For the second consecutive week Tiffany Samsoe of Greenville College is the SLIAC Softball Hitter of the Week. Samsoe, a sophomore from Norco, Calif., had a red hot bat last week hitting .833 and driving in seven runs during a four game winning streak. She picked up a hit in all four games including three multi-hit games. She also drove in at least one run in three games. Samsoe started the week going 3-for-4 against Grinnell, adding a stolen base. In game two of the double header she was 4-for-4 with four RBI. She did not let up there though and went 3-for-4 in a double header sweep of Blackburn, adding three more runs batted in. On the week she was 10-for-12 with five runs scored, seven RBI, and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

SLIAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Alyson Hahn, Westminster College

Hahn, a sophomore from O'Fallon, Mo., is once again the SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. Hahn made two appearances on the rubber last week, going 1-0 with a 0.55 earned-run average. She picked up the win in game one over Eureka, going seven innings and allowing no runs and just four hits while striking out five. In game two she entered in relief, stopping the Red Devil attack, and going 5 2/3 innings while allowing one run and striking out five. On the week Hahn threw a total of 12 2/3 innings and allowed just eight hits and one run while striking out 10 and walking just two. This marks the third time this season Hahn has captured the weekly award.

SLIAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jason Wissman, Principia College

Wissman, a senior from Westlake, Ohio, went 2-0 on the week with wins in both single and doubles action. Wissman started out with an 8-1 win at the #2 doubles position, teaming with Daniel Drake for the win. He continued with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking against Webster to go undefeated on the week.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Monica Behrle, Webster University

Behrle, a freshman from Atlanta, Ga., is taking home her second Player of the Week award this season after going undefeated on the week with wins against Greenville College. Behrle notched a 8-0 win at the #2 doubles spot with teammate Jesse Stephen-Willis. She then picked up her eighth consecutive singles match win at 6-1, 6-0 at the #2 singles spot to improve to 23-6 overall this year.

SLIAC MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
(Field) Kyle Jenkins, Spalding University

Jenkins, a senior from Louisville, Ky., put in three top three performances this weekend while competing at the Hanover Invitational. Jenkins placed first in both the discus and hammer throw while taking second place in the shot put. His distance of 48.24 meters in the discus ranks him 6th in the nation. He is currently ranked in the top ten in the nation in shot put (5th), discus, and hammer throw (9th).

SLIAC MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
(Track) Jason Hickson, Webster University

Hickson, a senior from Hillsboro, Mo., took first place in the 10,000 meter event this weekend at the Wash U Invitational. Hickson finished the race with a time of 32:44.77, topping a field of 35 runners. He bested the nearest competitor in the race by over five-seconds and set a new program record.

SLIAC WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
(Field) Lyssa Winslow, Principia College

Winslow, a senior from Londonderry, N.H., competed in three events at the Wash U Invitational including a first place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.64 meters, setting a new program record, and currently ranking second in the nation. She finished second in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.72 meters, setting a new personal best; and also finished fourth in the discus.
