SLIAC Players of the Week - Sept. 29

MEN'S SOCCER (OFFENSIVE)
Kevin Silcox, Principia College

Silcox, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, netted a goal in each of the Panthers' contests this week as he helped his team record their first wins of the 2014 season. Silcox scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win over Rhodes, scoring just 22-minutes into the game. He helped the Panthers pick up their second win of the season, and first in conference play, with a goal at the 20-minute mark in his team's win over Eureka.

MEN'S SOCCER (DEFENSIVE)
Thomas Crown, Greenville College

Crown, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., allowed just one goal in two games this week including a shutout win over conference foe Spalding. Crown stopped four of five shots faced against Benedictine-Springfield to start the week. Crown stopped all five shots against Spalding, blanking the Golden Eagles for the first time this season, recording his second shutout of the year. Crown finished the week with a 0.50 goals against average and a .900 save percentage, recording nine saves in 180 minutes of action.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (OFFENSIVE)
Dee Dee Sliter, Spalding University

Sliter, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., registered seven points in two games last week including a five point effort in her team's conference opener. Sliter sparked the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 win over Greenville in their SLIAC opener by recording two goals, including the game-winner, and one assist. In addition earlier in the week she added a goal in her team's game against Franklin. On the week Sliter finished with three goals and one assist for seven points. She scored on three of her five shots on goal and currently leads the SLIAC in scoring.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (DEFENSIVE)
Paige Pfankuch, Fontbonne University

Pfankuch, a junior from O'Fallon, Ill., helped Fontbonne extend their winning streak to three games with a pair of wins on the week. Pfankuch anchored a Griffins defense that recorded back to back shutouts including an 8-0 win over MacMurray in their SLIAC opener. Pfankuch and the Griffin defense limited their opponents to just three shots on goal in the two outings. In addition Pfankuch added an assist on the game-winning goal against Millikin, playing the ball into the box on a corner kick for the contest's only score.

VOLLEYBALL (OFFENSIVE)
Tess Rountree, Principia College

Rountree, a senior from Paso Robles, Calif., led her team to a pair of conference wins this week by averaging 5.2 kills per set and recording three double-doubles. Rountree started the week with 17 kills and 14 digs against Webster. She followed with 15 kills, hitting .609 in the match, and 10 digs in a sweep of Blackburn. She closed the week out with 20 kills and 17 digs in a win over MacMurray. On the week Rountree finished with 52 kills with a .270 hitting percentage. Rountree accounted for a total of 59.5 points in the three matches.

VOLLEYBALL (DEFENSIVE)
Caroline Will, Westminster College

Will, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., propelled the Blue Jays defense this week in a pair of conference matches including her program's first win over Webster in 11 years. Will recorded 22 digs and five assists in a four set loss to #4 ranked Washington University-St. Louis. Will then finished with 22 digs in a sweep of Webster and closed out the week with 21 digs against first-place Greenville. On the week Will averaged 6.14 digs per set while adding 14 assists.
