Principia hires new Baseball coaches

Principia College is pleased to announce the hire of Larry Frank as head baseball coach and Greg Ball as assistant baseball coach.  Greg will have other duties as assistant event and facility manager.

Larry is a familiar name in baseball circles around the St. Louis area.  He was head coach at the College from 1995-2001 (named SLIAC Conference Coach of the Year in 1996), head coach at the School from 2010-13, was an assistant coach for eight years prior, from 2001-2009,  an instructor at Bucky Dent's Baseball School since 2007, an umpire of youth baseball since 2006, a left-handed batting practice pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals since 1996, and many other baseball positions since arriving to the area in the late 1980's.  He is well known for his passion for the game, enthusiasm for life and dedication to demonstrating Christian Science through the sport of baseball.  Larry is a graduate of Arizona State and holds a master's degree in kinesiology from SIUE.

Greg is recent graduate of our GA program.  A four year starter on our baseball team, setting many records, Greg played overseas in Scandinavia after graduation.  As a GA, Greg earned a master's degree in sports leadership from Northeastern University, and coached with the baseball team at the School in 2013, and the College in 2014.

Both of these positions are one year appointments for the 2014-15 season/academic year.  A nationwide search for a permanent baseball coach will commence in the fall for the 2015-16 season.
