Former Greenville Standout Inspiring Others To Get Fit

Former Greenville College softball standout Sonya Jones has been inspiring others this season as a contestant on NBC's The Biggest Loser. Last week Jones advanced and is now one of four finalists competing for the grand prize.

Jones was a two-time National Christian College All-American and the 1995 Player of the Year. After graduating from Greenville with a B.A. in Physical Education in 1996 Jones went on to play two year's of semi-pro softball. She is currently a teacher and coach in Springfield, Illinois.

Jones was one of the contestants in this year's season of The Biggest Loser on NBC. This year's theme was "Glory Days" and included contestants that were former athletes seeking a second chance to return to their glory days; and along with Sonya included former professional athletes from the NFL and WBNA as well as an Olympic Gold Medalist.
