Webster Tennis Teams Earn ITA Academic Honors

The Webster University women's tennis team was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with an All-Academic Team Award for 2014.  In addition, three women's players and four men's players earned individual honors, being named ITA Scholar Athletes for 2014.

To qualify for the ITA All-Academic Team Award, team rosters must maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA for the academic year to qualify.  Individual Award winners must maintain a 3.5 GPA for the year to qualify for the Scholar Athlete Award.

For the women's team, Kaylen Kress (SO, Bartlett, IL/Bartlett HS), Marissa Lewis (JR, Owasso, OK/Owasso HS), and Erin Roop (SO, LaCrosse, WI/Aquinas HS) all earned 2014 ITA Scholar Athlete Awards.

On the men's team, Travis Blair (SO, Jerseyville, IL/Jerseyville HS), Juan Granizo (FR, Quito,Ecuador/Collegio Alberto Einstein), Carlton Poindexter (JR, Florissant, MO/McCluer North HS), and Karl Weisshaupt (JR, Wolfsberg, Austria/Webster Vienna) all received 2014 Scholar Athlete Awards from the ITA.

The Webster women's squad was one of only 91 teams at the NCAA III level who qualified for the All-Academic Team Award.
