SLIAC Players of the Week - Feb. 8

This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are: Shea Feehan, from Eureka College; and Kara Johnson, from Principia College.

SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SHEA FEEHAN - EUREKA COLLEGE

Feehan, a freshman from Peoria, Ill., was dominant in two games last week, with his team coming up just short; suffering two losses by a combined six points. Feehan scored more than a point per minute in each game, averaging 35.0 points per game. Feehan scored 34 points in a 105-100 loss to MacMurray, adding nine rebounds and two assists in the contest. He followed with 36 points in a narrow 91-90 loss to Westminster. Feehan shot 71-percent from the field on the week, averaging 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists over the two games.

 

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KARA JOHNSON - PRINCIPIA COLLEGE

Johnson, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., tuned in an impressive performance last week in securing the SLIAC Player of the Week award. Johnson, the league's leading scorer, continued to pour in the points averaging 25.0 points in two games on the week. She netted 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds against Iowa Wesleyan, going 8-of-15 from the field. Johnson then tallied 31 points, on 10-of-17 shooting, while pulling down 11 rebounds and helping her team to a win over Blackburn. On the week she shot 56.3 percent from the field, averaging 25.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.

  • Emily Camden, Eureka College (Women's Basketball) Camden joined the 1,000 point club in a win over MacMurray, and also became the program's career leader in made three-pointers.
  • Nick Carlos, Westminster College (Men's Basketball) Carlos carried his team in three games last week, scoring over 20 points in each game; averaging 23.5 points per outing.
  • Chris Davis, Blackburn College (Men's Basketball) Davis had back to back games of at least 20 points last week, helping the Beavers to a pair of conference wins.
  • Maya Hardin, Spalding University (Women's Basketball) Hardin scored 31 points, going 10-of-17 from the field, and helping her team notch a win over Greenville.
  • Brent Long, MacMurray College (Men's Basketball) Long scored 32 points, grabbing eight rebounds, as his team fell by one point to Greenville.
  • Kelsey Miller, Webster University (Women's Basketball) Miller scored a career high 26 points, knocking down seven three-pointers, including a three-pointer with 11-seconds remaining in the game to spur the Gorloks to a win over Fontbonne.
  • Nick Trisko, Spalding University (Men's Basketball) Trisko had an impressive double-double against Greenville, scoring 19 points and grabbing 16 rebounds.
  • Hunter Ward, Webster University (Men's Basketball) Ward recorded a double-double on the week; averaging 15.5 points and 11.5 rebounds over two games.
  • Andrea Zalis, Westminster College (Women's Basketball) Zalis averaged 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in two conference wins last week.
