SLIAC Players of the Week - Feb. 22

This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are: Brandon Goeing, from Spalding University; and Krista Armontrout, from Westminster College.

SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRANDON GOEING - SPALDING UNIVERSITY

Goeing, a senior guard, helped his team claim the final spot into the conference tournament, playing a key role in his team's two wins last week. Goeing scored 20 points, knocking down five three-pointers, in his team's win over Webster. In the final regular season game of the season Goeing netted 30 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, while adding five assists. On the week Goeing averaged 25.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game. He shot 54.2 percent from the field and knocked down 53-percent of his three point attempts. In addition Goeing connected on 15-of-16 free-three attempts.

 

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KRISTA ARMONTROUT - WESTMINSTER COLLEGE

Armontrout, a junior forward from Rolla, Mo., put up back to back 20 point games last week in leading her team to a pair of conference wins and extending her team's winning streak to 14 games. Armontrout tallied 23 points and nine rebounds in a win over MacMurray and followed with 20 points against Principia. She averaged 21.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last week while shooting 54.8 percent from the floor. In addition she added six assists over the two games.

Other Notables:

  • Justin Ball, Principia College (Men's Basketball) Ball recorded a pair of double-doubles last week, including a 28 point effort in a win over Fontbonne.
  • Sam Feehan, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Feehan put up 37 points in his team's thrilling 115-113 win over Greenville in their season finale.
  • Brent Long, MacMurray College (Men's Basketball) Long put up back to back 20 point games last week, including 26 points against Westminster.
  • Briana Markusic, MacMurray College (Women's Basketball) Markusic scored 25 points in both games last week, shooting 60-percent from the floor.
  • Alex Martin, Spalding University (Women's Basketball) Martin averaged 17.5 points and 8.5 assists over two games last week, helping her team pick up a spot in the conference tournament.
  • Romo Tabb, Westminster College (Men's Basketball) Tabb recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds against Principia.
  • Hunter Ward, Webster University (Men's Basketball) Ward once again filled up the stat line in his team's final game of the season, a win over Iowa Wesleyan. Ward finished with 13 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.
