SLIAC Players of the Week - October 12

SLIAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
ANDREW SHARP - GREENVILLE COLLEGE

Sharp, a sophomore from Altamont, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Men's Cross Country Player of the Week. Sharp had a career best performance, placing 12th out of 167 runners. Sharp completed the 8K course in a personal best time of 26:04, cutting 44-seconds off his previous time on the course, which he ran just three weeks ago. Sharp helped his team to a 6th place finish in a field of 19 teams at the meet.

SLIAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
MOLLY WORKS - GREENVILLE COLLEGE

Works, a senior from Lenzburg, Ill., is the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week after a 44th place finish this past weekend. Works finished the 5K course in just 20:07, competing in a field of 187 runners. Works cut 1:14 off her time on the same course from three weeks ago, helping her team to a 7th place finish in a field of 22 teams.

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE)
JOSH RIPPERGER - GREENVILLE COLLEGE

Ripperger, a sophomore from Hillsboro, Mo., is typically known for his defense as he plays along the back line for the Panthers; however this week he stepped up his offensive attack and helped his team to a pair of conference wins. Ripperger netted the game winning goal against previously unbeaten Spalding, scoring with under 8-minutes remaining in the game. He followed by helping set up the game winning goal against Fontbonne; helping Greenville remain undefeated at 4-0 in the conference.

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE)
RAUL BELMAN - WESTMINSTER COLLEGE

Belman, is this week's SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Belman helped his team pick up two conference wins while coming up just short against #17 Washington-St. Louis. Belman played a scoreless half in net against MacMurray and recorded a shutout over Eureka, making one save. Against his nationally ranked foe Belman made eight saves in the 1-0 loss. On the week he finished with nine saves in 225-minutes, recording a 0.40 goals-against average. This is the second time this season Belman has picked up the weekly award.

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE)
DEE DEE SLITER - SPALDING UNIVERSITY

Sliter, a junior from Louisville, Ky., tallied four goals in a pair of conference wins last week. Sliter started the week with the only goal in a 1-0 win over Greenville, scoring on her only shot of the game. Sliter then recorded a hat trick in her team's win over Iowa Wesleyan. On the week she netted all four goals on just four shots. She is currently second in the league in both points and goals scored.

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE)
ALLYSA LOGAN - SPALDING UNIVERSITY

Logan, a junior from Carmel, Ind., is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after helping her team notch a pair of shutout wins over conference opponents last week. Logan and her defensive teammates allowed just seven total shots over two games including just two shots on goal. In addition Logan added two assists in her team's win over Iowa Wesleyan.

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE)
ALLYSON MITCHELL - GREENVILLE COLLEGE

Mitchell, a sophomore from Gurnee, Ill., picks up SLIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors after helping her team to three conference wins and a match against #1 ranked Washington-St. Louis. Mitchell started the week with 11 kills in her match against her ranked foe. She then led her team to three straight conference wins, starting with 20 kills in a 3-1 win over Spalding. She added five kills and three service aces in a sweep of Iowa Wesleyan and closed out the week with 10 kills and five aces in a win over MacMurray. On the week Mitchell finished with 46 kills in 13 sets, averaging 3.54 per set while hitting .252 and recording 10 aces.

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE)
KATIE O'TOOLE - WEBSTER UNIVERSITY

O'Toole, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., helped Webster to three conference wins last week from her libero position. O'Toole recorded three 20 dig performances including a high of 27 digs against Principia. O'Toole averaged 6.07 digs per set over her team's four matches. She finished with 85 digs in 14 sets and became just the 12th player in school history to reach the 1,000 dig mark for her career. She now has 1,068 career digs; good for 10th in Webster program history.
