SLIAC Players of the Week - November 23

This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are Adaku Anumu, from Principia College; and Krista Armontrout, from Westminster College. 

SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEKf
ADAKU ANUMU - PRINCIPIA COLLEGE

Anumu, a junior transfer to the Panthers, was the leading scorer in all three of his team's wins last week; averaging 23.7 points per game. Anumu netted 25 points in the season opener and followed with 18 points in a win over Loras. Anumu wrapped up his week with a career high 28 points in a win over Lincoln Christian, shooting 10-of-14 from the field. On the week Anumu shot 59.5 percent from the field and knocked down 9-of-19 three point attempts. He added 4.7 rebounds per game and dished out six assists on the week.

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KRISTA ARMONTROUT - WESTMINSTER COLLEGE

Armontrout, a junior from Centralia, Mo., led the Blue Jays to a pair of wins in their season opening week. Armontrout recorded her first collegiate double-double in a season opening win over Millikin, finishing with 21 points and 15 rebounds. In the win she scored nine of her team's final 15 points, pushing them to a four point win. She also added four assists and four steals in the contest. Then, in a 108-107 win over Elmhurst, Armontrout scored 20 points, on 8-of-13 shooting, while grabbing eight rebounds. On the week she averaged 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting 54.8 percent from the field.

Other Notables:

  • Coley Baker, Greenville College (Women's Basketball) Baker put up two 20-point efforts last week as well as finishing with seven blocked shots in a win over Millikin.
  • Michaela Balducci, Eureka College (Women's Basketball) Balducci recorded 19 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals in her team's game against Knox.
  • Tim Daniel, Greenville College (Men's Basketball) Daniel averaged 23.7 points per game on the week including a 30 point effort against Millikin while knocking down 17-of-36 three point attempts.
  • Brent Long, MacMurray College (Men's Basketball) Long was named to the Illinois College/Bill Merris All-Tournament team after netting 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in his team's win over Illinois Tech.
