SLIAC Game of the Week: Principia at Greenville (January 12, 2016)
The Game of the Week features a SLIAC battle between Principia College and Greenville College in Greenville, Ill. Principia will be led by the league's leading scorer, Adaku Anumu, while Greenville comes in as not only the league's top scoring team but the top scoring team in NCAA Division III.....MORE
Schoenke, First Commissioner of SLIAC Passes Away (January 12, 2016)
Walter Schoenke, the first commissioner of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), passed away on Monday. The conference would like to pass along condolences to his family and friends and thank him for his service to the conference and to our country.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC
The Blackburn men's basketball team had their three game winning streak came to an end last Saturday, in an 84-73 loss to Westminster. The Beavers three game winning streak was their longest since the 2011-12 season. The Beavers will look to get back on another winning streak with games against Iowa Wesleyan and Eureka this week. |
The Eureka College Softball program has announced the 2016 Molly Hardesty Softball Clinic, a one-day event tailored to softball coaches, held at the Reagan Athletic Complex on Saturday, February 6th. The clinic will be split up into a morning and an afternoon session, with lunch and a collegiate coaches' roundtable offered in between sessions. The cost for the one-day event is $45.00. |
After back to back conference wins the Griffins men's basketball team fell to Greenville last Saturday, moving their conference record to 3-3. The Griffins had topped Westminster and Webster before their 127-96 loss to the Panthers. Fontbonne is back in action this week with games against Greenville and Eureka. |
The Greenville men's basketball team won their first back to back games this season when they topped Principia 129-100 on Tuesday night after defeating Fontbonne last Saturday. The Panthers are now 3-4 in conference play this season and will host Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday as they look to close out their three game home stand with a win. The Panthers are currently leading NCAA Division III in scoring at 112.8 ppg. |

MacMurray senior forward Deavis Johnson was named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 26.0 points and 15.5 rebounds in two games, including 34 points and 21 rebounds against Greenville. The 21 rebounds are the 5th highest total in NCAA Division III men's basketball this year. Johnson joined elite company when he scored his 1,000th career point in a game against Webster last weekend. In that same game he also recorded his 750th career rebound. |
After a week of voting Adaku Anumu was named the Hero of the Week by Hero Sports. Anumu received 32.7% of the votes after scoring 32 points against Iowa Wesleyan last week. Anumu is off to another strong start this week after having put up 43 points in a loss to Greenville College on Tuesday night. |

The Webster baseball team is ranked #5 in the 2016 ABCA Preseason Poll. The Gorloks totaled 260 points in the poll with defending champion SUNY-Cortland State taking the top spot. Webster finished last year with a 34-15 overall record, making their third NCAA Division III World Series appearance in four years. You can view the entire poll HERE |
Westminster senior Tayisah Pohtos, a member of the Blue Jays women's soccer team, accepted the NCAA Grant for Minority Student-Athletes last week at the NCAA Convention in San Antonio, Texas. Congratulations Tayisah! |
