Webster's Kilgallon Appointed To NCAA Division II Subcommittee (February 5, 2016)
Webster University Director of Athletics, Scott Kilgallon, has been named to the NCAA Division III Convention-Planning Subcommittee. Kilgallon’s appointment for the Convention-Planning Subcommittee is effective immediately, and is a three-year term that concludes in January 2019.....MORE
SLIAC Game of the Week: Fontbonne at Eureka (February 9, 2016)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week features the men's basketball game game between Fontbonne University and Webster University in what is known as the "Battle of Big Bend". The two schools, located just five miles apart, will face each other for the second time this season and are among the teams battling for postseason position.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC
It took an extra five minutes but the Blackburn men's basketball team survived their meeting against Principia on Saturday, winning 84-76 in overtime. The Beavers trailed 66-60 with just over three-minutes left in regulation when Jake Maestranzi hit a three to spark the Beavers. He finished with a team high 26 points as the Beavers scored 10 of the first 13 poitns in the overtime period. |
Red Devil senior Emily Camden had a memorable night last week against MacMurray. In the first half Camden joined the 1,000 point club, becoming the 16th player in school history to reach that mark. In the second-half Camden became the program's career leader in three-point field goals and currently had 197 in her four years. |
The Fontbonne men's basketball team is hoping the return of Richard Dorhauer and Ben Kissing, who have missed time recently due to injury, can help them right the ship. The Griffins have dropped three in a row and five of their last six to fall to 6-8 in the SLIAC. The Griffins look to get back into the win column this week with games against Greenville and Eureka. |
The streaking Greenville men's basketball team have won four straight, the longest active winning streak in the league. The Panthers are now 10-11 overall and 9-5 in the SLIAC, tied for first in the standings. After winning just two games in the first two months of the season the Panthers have adjusted to their new system and gone 8-3 since the turn of the New Year. |

The MacMurray men's basketball team had their six game winning streak stopped by Greenville on Saturday in a thrilling 124-123 game. The Highlanders trailed by 20 at half-time but their come back attempt came up just short. Brent Long led the way with 32 points and eight rebounds. MacMurray is now 9-5 in the SLIAC, tied for first-place in the standings as they are in search of a SLIAC regular season title. |
Kara Johnson led the Panthers women's basketball team to back to back wins this week. In a win over Blackburn on Saturday, Johnson led all players with 31 points, going 10-of-17 from the field, while grabbing 11 rebounds. She followed with 30 points against Spalding on Tuesday. Johnson currently leads the SLIAC in scoring while Principia has now won three of their last four games. |

The Webster women's basketball team continues to make a push for the postseason, having won two straight games. The Gorloks are now 8-6 in the conference and are tied for the final spot into playoffs. They are on the road this week for a pair of conference games as they face MacMurray on Wednesday night and Westminster on Saturday afternoon. |
The Westminster men's basketball team maintained their push for a regular season SLIAC championship with two wins last week to improve to 9-5 in conference play. They are currently in a four way tie and will face Blackburn and Webster this week as their pursuit continues. |
