Several SLIAC Cross Country Programs Honored For Academic Success (Feb. 22, 2016)
A total of five St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) programs were honored by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)for their academic success during the 2015 season.....MORE

MacMurray Set To Host Tournament, Cap Wild 2015-16 Season (February 23, 2016)
MacMurray College will play host to the 2016 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball tournament, capping off the closest regular season race in conference history. Joining them in the tournament field will be Greenville College, Spalding University, and Westminster College.....MORE

Same Teams, New Setting; Eureka, Greenville, Spalding, Westminster To Do Battle  (February 23, 2016)
The same four teams from last year's SLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament return to do battle in the 2016 version; although Westminster College will serve as host this year. Eureka College, Greenville College, Spalding University, and Westminster College are back once more as they will compete this week for the SLIAC's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III National Tournament.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Although they missed the SLIAC Tournament, the men's basketball team can look at 2015-16 as a successful season. The Beavers totaled 10 wins, their most since the 2006-07 season. In fact the Beavers 10 wins this season were as many as they had in the three previous years combined.
The Eureka women's basketball team earned a #4 seed in this year's SLIAC Women's Basketball Tournament. The Red Devils secured a spot into the tournament for the fifth consecutive year. They will face host and #1 seed Westminster College on Friday at 8 p.m. The Red Devils are 2-4 all-time in their previous four trips to the post-season.
The Fontbonne women's cross country team was one of just five SLIAC programs to be honored by United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association for their academic success this past year. The Griffins had a team grade-point average of 3.523 and were one of 207 women's teams in NCAA Division III to earn All-Academic team honors.
The dream season for the Greenville men's basketball team continued as the Panthers earned a share of the SLIAC regular season title for the first time since 1995-96. The Panthers will be the #2 seed in this year's conference tournament and face #3 seed Westminster in the first-round on Thursday at 6 p.m. in Fulton, Mo. Greenville is currently 13-12 overall and lead NCAA Division III in scoring at 114.0 points per game.

Iowa Wesleyan women's basketball team will be the #2 seed in this year's United States Collegiate Association Basketball Division I National Championship. The Tigers will face #7 seed Carlow University in the first round of the tournament. The tournament will be held March 2-5 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and hosted by Penn State Fayette. Iowa Wesleyan is 18-7 overall this season, going 13-5 in the SLIAC while Carlow was 14-13 overall and went 7-10 in the KIAC.
The MacMurray men's basketball team captured the SLIAC regular season title for the second consecutive year. The Highlanders now have five SLIAC regular season championships (1993, 2001, 2007, 2015, and 2016). The Highlanders are the #1 seed in the conference tournament and will host the tournament for the first time in program history. They went 8-1 at home this season and will be looking for their third SLIAC Tournament Championship (1993 and 1999).
The Principia men's basketball team closed out their season in memorable fashion, winning their final two games of the year. The Panthers took down Fontbonne on Senior Night and then picked up a thrilling 65-62 road win over Westminster last Saturday. Panther forward Adaku Anumu led the conference in scoring (25.4 ppg), becoming the fifth Panther to accomplish that feat in conference history.

The Spalding men's basketball team snagged the final spot into the conference tournament, earning the #4 seed after defeating Blackburn College in the regular season finale. The Golden Eagles are 12-13 entering the tournament and will be making their fourth consecutive tournament trip. The Golden Eagles have made it to the championship game in all three of their previous trips. 
The Gorlok baseball team picked up an impressive early season win, defeating #7 Rhodes 5-4. The Gorloks, ranked #5, topped their ranked opponent in Memphis, Tenn. behind a strong pitching performance by Johnny Lord. Lord went six innings, striking out five and earned SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors.
The Westminster men's basketball team will be making their 17th trip to the SLIAC Tournament. The Blue Jays have three tournament titles, winning in 1995, 2010, and 2012. They are the #3 seed in this year's field after finishing 10-15 overall and 10-8 in the SLIAC. The Blue Jays will face #2 seed Greenville at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Jacksonville, Ill.
