SLIAC Raises Over $3800 For American Cancer Society (March 3, 2016)
This past season the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and the American Cancer Society partnered for a conference wide Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser. Participating conference school members held various collections and ceremonies during their Coaches vs. Cancer game; including raffles, remembrance balloon release, and accepting donations.....MORE

Carlson Notches 400th Coaching Win (March 8, 2016)
The 13-3 win over Millikin was historic for the Greenville College baseball program as its head coach Lynn Carlson recorded his 400th career victory in his 20th season as Greenville's head baseball coach.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Although the Blackburn baseball team is off to a rough start this season, senior Brock Hill has wasted no time in jumping off to a hot start. Hill is hitting .471 this season, through five games, going 8-for-17 with four doubles. He also has one home run and is tied for the team lead with three runs batted in.

Eureka College will hold three basketball clinics for girls this summer. Head Coach Steve Thompson will hold a camp circuit and Individual Skills Camp on June 20-24 as well as an Advanced Skills Camp from July 8-10. Camp coaches will include recent Red Devil stand outs Emily Camden, Kelsey Shoemake, and Caty (Eeten) Bane. For more information click HERE

Fontbonne's Madison Leonard was named to the NFCA/Schutt Sports Division III Player of the Year watch list. Leonard, a senior for the Griffins softball team, is one of 50 student-athletes selected to the watch list. Leonard was named Third Team All-American last year and is the Griffins career leader in strikeouts and wins.

The Greenville women's basketball team was knocked out of the NCAA Division III Championship in a 87-48 loss to #10 ranked Washington University-St. Louis. Greenville was down 11-8 early on but a run by the Bears separated the two teams with Greenville trailing 27-14 after the first quarter. Missy Deal led the Panthers with 10 points while Coley Baker added eight points and six rebounds.

The Iowa Wesleyan women's basketball team advanced to the USCAA Championship game, falling to Concordia-Alabama 72-65. The Tigers got off to a slow start, falling behind 6-0 at the start of the game. Darby Massner led the Tigers with 21 points, on 6-of-8 shooting, while Kaylee Moseley added 11 points. Rachel Williams finished her Tiger career with a double-double, scoring 10 points and dishing out 11 assists.

The MacMurray baseball team is off to a 4-5 start this season, including putting together a four game winning streak last week. The Highlanders offense is being led by Drake Hardin and Collin Antoine. Hardin, a senior, is hitting .432 and leads the team with two home runs and 10 runs batted in. Antoine, a sophomore, is hitting .417 with six runs batted in and a .512 on-base percentage.

Principia College will say goodbye to both their men's and women's basketball head coaches. Mike Bushong is retiring after spending over 40 years in various capacities at Principia. Colie Bushong has stepped down as women's head coach after serving in that role since 2011 to pursue other endeavors.

The Spalding baseball team picked up a big sweep over #25 Heidelberg last weekend to improve to 5-2 on the season. The Golden Eagles won game one 7-6, with a walk off single from Kam Bruner, and a 4-2 win in game two. Spalding has won each of the last two SLIAC Baseball Hitter of the Week awards with Bruner winning this week and Korie Vire taking last week's honors.

The Webster baseball team has dropped two straight games on their road trip to California, falling to 5-5 on the season. The Gorloks offense hasn't hit full stride yet, hitting .256 as a team currently. However their pitching has come out firing, with a 3.61 earned-run average and holding opponents to just a .252 batting average.

The Blue Jays suffered a 105-52 loss to #1 ranked Augustana in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. The Blue Jays took a quick 4-0 lead but saw the home team take a 31-14 edge mid-way through the first half. Dominick Erby led Westminster with nine points while Tanner Cochran, Romo Tabb, and Jimmy Villalobos each added seven points.
