Westminster's Branneky Named CoSIDA All-District (May 5, 2016)
The 2016 Academic All-District Baseball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), was released on May 5, 2016, and Westminster's senior Tyler Branneky was named to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team.....MORE

Greenville Outlasts Westminster In SLIAC Softball Tournament (May 7, 2016)
It took over nine hours to come to fruition but Greenville College eventually outlasted Westminster College in a rain and lightning delayed day and night to win the 2016 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament; making the NCAA Division III national tournament for the first time in program history.....MORE

PlayBall, SLIAC Baseball Tournamen Preview (May 10, 2016)
The final St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship of the year will take place this weekend with the 2016 Baseball Tournament. The tournament field will include Greenville College, MacMurray College, Webster University, and Westminster College.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn College's Lauren Rhodes picked up First Team Softball All-Conference honors this year, making the first team as an at-large player. Jaclyn Elmore also earned All-Conference honors, being named to the Second Team while Abigail Sutton was named the Beavers representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.

Eureka College sophomore Cooper Elam had a memorable day at the 2016 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Invitational last weekend. Elam took first place in the pole vault, highlighting his team's day. Elam claimed first with a final jump of 13'9" for the Red Devils lone first-place finish.

Fontbonne University senior pitcher Madison Leonard became the first player in SLIAC history to be named the conference's Pitcher of the Year multiple times in her career. Leonard finished the regular season with a 14-2 record, a 1.78 earned-run average, and 132 strikeouts in 16 conference games; leading the conference in all three categories. She also picked up SLIAC First Team All-Conference honors.
The Greenville track and field teams swept top honors at the 2016 SLIAC Invitational. The men's team totaled 255 total points, highlighted by numerous top finishes in track events including pair of three first place finishes by Treyvon Manning. The women's team finished first overall with 271 team points, including winning 13 different events. Chelsea Giles led the way with two first-place finishes while the Panthers 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams took top honors.

Dakota Flesner, a senior at Iowa Wesleyan, recently received the Lori M. Wright Senior Women's Basketball Award.  The award is presented annually to a senior on the Tiger women's basketball team who has exhibited athletic ability, effective leadership skills, and academic excellence over the course of her career at Iowa Wesleyan. Flesner, from Payson, Ill., is an exercise science and physical education major and helped the Tigers to a 20-8 overall record this past season.

The MacMurray baseball team is headed to postseason play for the first time since 1999. The Highlanders swept Principia last weekend to secure the top seed from the SLIAC East Division, wrapping up the regular season with a 22-18 overall record and a 15-7 conference record. The Highlanders will face Westminster College, the #2 seed from the West Division, this week in the opening round of the 2016 SLIAC Baseball Tournament.
The Principia softball team took home the 2016 SLIAC Softball Team Sportsmanship award, which is given to the team whose players, coaches, and fans best exhibit the principles of good sportsmanship. In addition AC McMullen was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team and Noelle Shoemake picked up SLIAC Third Team All-Conference honors as a utility player.

The Spalding Golden Eagles golf team is competing in the NCAA Division III National Tournament this week. The Golden Eagles are making their second straight trip to nationals, and third appearance in four years. The tournament is being held in Rochester, N.Y. with rounds at both Midvale Country Club and Mendon Golf Club. You can follow live HERE

The Webster softball team had four players named to the 2016 SLIAC All-Conference teams along with Carissa Cardenas earning All-Sportsmanship team honors. Katelyn Sullens and Erin McGinnis were both named First Team while Carol Weiler and Sidney Coleman picked up Second Team honors.
The Westminster softball team was well represented on the 2016 SLIAC Softball All-Conference team. Erica Burney and Shannon Perrigo picked up First Team honors while Alyson Hahn and Amber Tepen were named Second Team and Alyssa Johnson, Anne Baker, and Leah Holthaus were named Third Team. In addition Burney was named the 2016 SLIAC Player of the Year and Kat Cooper was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
