This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is between the top two teams in the SLIAC Women's Basketball standings; Eureka College and Greenville College. The two teams will meet on Wednesday night, January 11, in Greenville, Ill. at 6 p.m. You can watch the game on LIVE VIDEO or via LIVE STATS

 

 

Eureka College "RED DEVILS"

The Eureka Red Devils are currently 9-5 overall and remain the only undefeated team in conference play with a 5-0 record. They have won three straight games and are coming off an 83-42 win over MacMurray last Saturday.

The Red Devils are averaging 74.1 points per game this season, second best in the SLIAC. They are the league's top outside shooting team, knocking down 7.9 three's per game with junior guard Hayley Reneau leading the way. Reneau is averaging 13.4 points per game and is second in the conference with 31 made three-pointers. Senior forward Michaela Balducci is the team's top inside player, averaging 11.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 50-percent from the field. Junior Kerrigan Dura is averaging 10.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game this season.

 

Greenville College "PANTHERS"

Greenville enters the game with a 9-5 overall record and a 4-2 record in the SLIAC. They are coming off a 74-66 loss to Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday, ending a four game conference winning streak.

Greenville is scoring 73.7 points per game this season, third in the league, and are the top field goal percentage team with a .458 mark. Laura Goodnight, a junior forward, is the team's leading scorer at 14.5 points per game and also has a team high 6.1 rebounds per game. Sophomore Wesley Woodard is averaging 12.6 points per game and leads the SLIAC with a .578 field goal percentage. Senior guard Taylor Paulin is the team's top outside threat with 25 three's this season and connecting on a 41-percent clip.

Game Notes

  •  Eureka and Greenville are tied in the all-time series at 10-10 with Greenville winning their last meeting 64-43 in February 2015.
  • Greenville is 6-1 at home this season, with their only loss coming to #5 ranked Washington-St. Louis.
  • The 5-0 start in conference play for Eureka is the program's best start since joining the SLIAC.
  • Saturday's game will feature two of the leauge's top three scorers, Greenville's Laura Goodnight and Eureka's Hayley Reneau, as well as two of the league's top three assist leaders, Eureka's Kerrigan Dura and Greenville's Claire Schmitt.
