The SLIAC Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week are Jake Maestranzi, from Blackburn College, and Kelsey Miller, from Webster University.

JAKE MAESTRANZI, BLACKBURN COLLEGE

Blackburn College senior guard Jake Maestranzi claims his second straight SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. Maestranzi, from Bartlett, Ill., helped the Beavers go 1-1 over a two week holiday break including a win over conference foe MacMurray College. Maestranzi averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 assists over the two games including shooting 42-percent from three-point range. He tallied 20 points, all in the second-half, in a game against Elmhurst. Maestranzi followed with 13 points and eight assists in a win over MacMurray, recording four steals in the game as well.

KELSEY MILLER, WEBSTER UNIVERSITY

Kelsey Miller is this week's SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Miller, a junior guard from Elizabeth, Ind., helped the Gorloks to a pair of wins over a two week stretch. Miller averaged 19.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in the two games and was the high scorer in each game. She scored 19 points, going 6-of-9 from the field, with two steals in a win over Dallas. Miller followed with 20 points, knocking down six three-pointers, against Central (Iowa) while again recording two steals. On the week Miller shot 52-percent from the field with seven total three-pointers and four steals.

Other Notables:

  • Shea Feehan, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Feehan recorded his ninth straight game this season with 20 or more points, scoring 25 points in a loss to St. Francis (Ill.).
  • Hayley Reneau, Eureka College (Women's Basketball) Reneau finished with 22 points, on 8-of-9 shooting, with four assists and four steals in a win over Rust.
