SLIAC Players of the Week - February 13

This week's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week are two players who have their teams positioned at the top of the SLIAC standings: Kenny Greene, from Greenville College and Hayley Reneau, from Eureka College.

SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - FEB. 13
KENNY GREENE, GREENVILLE COLLEGE

Kenny Greene is the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after helping Greenville move into first place in the SLIAC standings. Greene, a senior guard from Los Angeles, Calif., was key to the Panthers three wins last week. He scored 26 points in a win over Iowa Wesleyan, knocking down four three-pointers. Greene followed with 24 points in a thrilling win over Eureka. Greene averaged 21.7 points ove the three games, shooting 53.5 percent from the field and knocking down 15 three-pointers. He also averaged 8.0 rebounds per game including a career high 15 rebounds against Iowa Wesleyan.

 

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - FEB. 13
HAYLEY RENEAU, EUREKA COLLEGE

Hayley Reneau, a junior guard at Eureka College, is the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Reneau led the Red Devils in scoring in all three games last week, helping the Red Devils maintain their spot atop the conference standings and secure hosting rights for the 2017 SLIAC Tournament. Reneau finished with 22 points, knocking down four three-pointers, in a win over Westminster. She followed with a career high 28 points, on 12-of-17 shooting, in a win over MacMurray and closed out the week with 17 points against Greenville. Reneau was more than just a scorer this week though, averaging 3.7 steals and 2.0 blocks per game including five steals against MacMurray. On the week she averaged 22.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while shooting 56.3 percent from the field.

Other Notables:

  • Shea Feehan, Eureka College (Men's Basketball) Feehan recorded a triple-double in the Red Devils game against Greenville; finishing with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists with five steals as well.
  • Mirrakohl Johnson, Westminster College (Women's Basketball) Johnson recorded back to back double-doubles last week including a 16 point, 12 rebound game against Blackburn.
  • Jack Lake, Fontbonne University (Men's Basketball) Lake had back to back 20 point games, shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
  • Taylor Lucas, Webster Univesrity (Women's Basketball) Lucas averaged 13.0 points and 3.0 assists over two games last week while shooting 71.4 percent from the floor.
  • Micah Paulson, Principia College (Men's Basketball) Paulson scored eight straight points in a Panthers come from behind win against Fontbonne; finishing with 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
  • C.J. Singletary, Iowa Wesleyan University (Men's Basketball) Singletary finished with 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists with no turnovers against Westminster while shooting 8-of-12 from the floor.
  • Raven Venegas, Fontbonne University (Women's Basketball) Venegas helped secure the Griffins first trip to SLIAC Tournament since 2012. Venegas scored a career high 24 points in a win over Spalding, stepping up by scoring 12 of her team's 18 final points.
