SLIAC Players of the Week - September 26
This week's SLIAC Players of the Week include James Bowen, from Eureka College; Kyle Hertel, from Webster University; Amanda Kiso, from Westminster College; Jessie Kuykendall, from Westminster College; Tayler Pulvirenti, from Fontbonne University; Kayla Reeg, from Westminster College; Nate Richards, from Principia College; and Lyndi Saccaro, from MacMurray College.

SLIAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK Nate Richards, a junior from Princeton, Mass., is the SLIAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 26. Richards, making his 2016 debut on an 8K course, finished in a time of 26:25 at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. Richards finished 6th overall individually out of 292 runners. He used a late push over the final kilometer to finish in the top ten and helped the Panthers finish 10th in a field of 31 teams.

SLIAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK For the second straight week and the third time this season Westminster's Jessie Kuykendall grabs SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors. Competing in the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational Kuykendall finished 2nd overall in a field of 225 runners. She completed the 6K course in a time of 23:03 and helped the Blue Jays to a 10th place team finish, out of 30 teams.

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE) James Bowen is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Bowen totaled two goals and an assist in three games last week, helping the Red Devils to a pair of wins. Bowen helped set up the game tying goal in his team's 2-1 win over Blackburn. He followed by scoring the only two goals of the game in a 2-0 win over MacMurray. He currently leads the conference in both total points (17) and goals scored (7).

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE) Kyle Hertel, a freshman from Sandpoint, Idaho, is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Making just his second start this season Hertel recorded a shutout win over Greenville College. Hertel stopped all three shots he faced as he recorded his first collegiate win in the Gorloks' 2016 SLIAC opener.

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE) Lyndi Saccaro is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. Saccaro, a junior from Rochester, Ill., tallied a point in all three games for the Highlanders last week; helping them to three wins. Saccaro started the week with a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Lincoln Christian. She followed with an assist in her team's 5-0 win over Eureka and then closed out the week with two goals and an assist in a 5-0 win over Finlandia. On the week Saccaro finished with five goals and two assists for 12 total points with 16 shots on goal. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE) For the second week in a row Tayler Pulvirenti claims the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award. Pulvirenti, a senior goalkeeper, recorded a pair of shutouts last week including helping the Griffins win their 2016 conference opener. Against Evangel Pulvirenti stopped all four shots she faced in a 2-0 win. She started conference play by blanking Spalding 1-0, stopping seven shots including six in the second-half. For the week Pulvirenti played 180 minutes in net and totaled 11 saves with two wins and two shutouts. |

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE) Amanda Kiso picks up SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors this week after providing a strong net defense for the Blue Jays. Kiso, a senior middle hitter, totaled 24 blocks on the week. She averaged 1.4 blocks per set in her team's four wins on the week. Kiso had a high of nine blocks in a five set win over Fontbonne. She also hit .362 on the week and added 30 kills. With her performance on the week Kiso sits tied for first in program history in career blocks with 336. She is currently fourth in the SLIAC in blocks per set this season. |

- Katelyn Cosgrove, Spalding University (Volleyball) Cosgrove piled up 40 assists and 16 digs in a four set win over Eureka and added 40 assists and 18 digs in a win over MacMurray.
- Reed Gwillim, Blackburn College (Men's Soccer) Gwillim notched two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 win over Iowa Wesleyan.
- Kelsey Hamann, Webster University (Volleyball) Hamann had back to back double-double matches, reaching 20 assists and 18 digs against Fontbonne and 24 assists and 10 digs against Westminster.
- Jodi Kaiping, Webster University (Women's Soccer) Kaiping anchored the Gorlok defense which allowed just one goal and two shots on goal in two wins last week.
- Melissa Kasper, Webster University (Women's Soccer) Kasper was key in the Gorlok offense in two wins last week, recording a goal and an assist in each of her team's wins.
- Lia Kruse, Greenville College (Women's Cross Country) Kruse set a new personal best with a time of 24:04 and finishing 7th individually at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational.
- Allyson Mitchell, Greenville College (Volleyball) Mitchell led the Panthers with 24 kills in a five set loss to Westminster.
- Katie O'Toole, Webster University (Volleyball) O'Toole moved further up the Gorlok all-time digs list with her 40 dig outing against Fontbonne.
- Cassandra Schwamborn, Iowa Wesleyan (Volleyball) Schwamborn totaled three double-double matches including a 17 kill, 12 dig performance against Monmouth.
- Marie Sherman, Principia College (Women's Cross Country) Sherman cut off over two-minutes on her personal best time, finishing her 6K race in a time of 28:30.
- Emily Tippetts, Principia College (Volleyball) Tippetts reached double digits in kills in four of her five matches last week including two matches with 16 kills.
- Olivia Wall, MacMurray College (Volleyball) Wall had a double-double with 10 kills and 17 digs in a win over Blackburn.
