SLIAC Players of the Week - October 31

This week's SLIAC Players of the Week include: Elena Bloma, from Webster University; Alli Brown, from Fontbonne University; Joey Lesher, from Spalding University; Kersten McDonough, from Fontbonne University; Chelsea Noser, from Webster University; and Drake Trease, from Westminster College.

	SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE) *DRAKE TREASE - WESTMINSTER COLLEGE* Westminster's Drake Trease is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Trease, a senior, propelled the Blue Jay offense to a pair of conference wins last week. Trease recorded three goals and two assists in the two games as he helped Westminster secure a #2 seed in the upcoming SLIAC Tournament. Trease recorded a goal and an assist in his team's 4-0 win over Fontbonne and followed with two goals and an assist in their 5-0 win over MacMurray. Trease leads the SLIAC in both total points (32) and goals (14) this season.
	SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE) *JOEY LESHER - SPALDING UNIVERSITY* Joey Lesher, a senior from Spalding University, is the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The defender not only led the Golden Eagle defense to a pair of conference wins, securing the program's first ever regular season conference title, but he added a goal in each of the two games. The Lesher led defense picked up a 1-0 shutout win over Webster, holding the Gorloks to just two shots on goal. Lesher also netted the game's only goal. He followed with another goal in a win over Iowa Wesleyan that capped an undefeated conference season for Spalding.
	SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE) *CHELSEA NOSER - WEBSTER UNIVERSITY* Chelsea Noser is this week's SLIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Noser, from Collinsville, Ill., helped the Gorloks pick up three conference wins last week; finishing the season at a perfect 9-0 in conference play. She started the week with a goal and an assist in a win over Spalding. She followed with two goals, including the game-winner, and two assists in a win over Blackburn and closed out her week with an assist in a win over Eureka. She totaled three goals four assists last week, picking up a point in all three games.
	SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE) *ELENA BLOMA - WEBSTER UNIVERSITY* Webster University defender Elena Bloma is the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Bloma, a junior, anchored the Gorlok defense during three wins and two shutouts last week. While marking the league's top scorer Bloma did not allow a shot in her team's 6-1 win over Spalding. She followed by guiding the Gorloks to wins over Blackburn and Eureka in which her team allowed just one shot combined. This is the second time this season Bloma has taken home the weekly award.
	SLIAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK (OFFENSIVE) *KERSTEN McDONOUGH* - FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY Kersten McDonough closes out her stellar career at Fontbonne as the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. McDonough, a senior from Pacific, Mo., averaged 4.25 kills per set over four matches last week including two matches with over 20 kills. She had a season high 27 kills in a five set win over Webster, hitting .442 in the match. She followed with 22 kills in a win over Illinois College while adding three service aces. McDonough totaled 68 kills in the four matches, helping the Griffins to three wins, while hitting .264. She finished with 78.5 total points on the week, averaging 4.9 per set. This is the second time this season she has been named the Offensive Player of the Week.
	SLIAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK (DEFENSIVE) *ALLI BROWN - FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY* Fontbonne senior middle blocker Alli Brown is the SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. Brown, from Arnold, Mo., had a record setting week for the Griffins while helping them to three wins. Brown totaled 23 blocks, including 19 block assists, as she took over the top spot in the Griffin record books for season block assists. Her top outing on the week was an eight block performance against Illinois College. She also totaled seven blocks twice and averaged 1.44 blocks per set on the week.

Maggie Earney, Iowa Wesleyan (Volleyball) Earney finished with 28 assists in a loss to Simpson, averaging 9.33 per set.
Kyle Hertel, Webster University (Men's Soccer) Hertel allowed just one goal, making seven saves, in over 172 minutes of action last week.
Josh Jaycox, Westminster College (Men's Soccer) The Jaycox led Blue Jays picked up back to back shutouts last week in a pair of conference games.
Maya March, Blackburn College (Women's Soccer) March scored two goals in her team's game against Principia, marking the first time the Beavers have scored against the Panthers since 2005.
Hannah Marshall, Westminster College (Volleyball) Marshall had 17 kills in a win over Iowa Wesleyan, reaching the 1,000 kill mark for her career.
Allyson Mitchell, Greenville College (Volleyball) Mitchell finished with a double-double in her team's win over Spalding, going for 15 kills and 10 digs.
Katie O'Toole, Webster University (Volleyball) O'Toole finished with 113 digs in five matches last week, averaging 6.28 digs per set while being named to the Augustana 'Pumpkin Bach' All-Tournamen team.
Drew Quisenberry, Webster University (Men's Soccer) Quisenberry scored a natural hat trick in his team's 4-1 win over Eureka.
Kayla Reeg (Westminster College) Reeg was an all-around performer last week; averaging 10.14 assists per set while totaling 44 digs and 10 service aces in four matches.
Emily Tippetts, Principia College (Volleyball) Tippetts totaled 12 kills while hitting .423 in a 3-0 win over MacMurray.
