SLIAC Players of the Week - November 28

The SLIAC Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week are Shea Feehan, from Eureka College and Alex Martin, from Spalding University; two players who have helped their teams start the season with impressive undefeated streaks.

SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - NOV. 28
SHEA FEEHAN, EUREKA COLLEGE

For the second week in a row Eureka College's Shea Feehan has grabbed the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. Feehan, a sophomore guard from Peoria, Ill., led the Red Devils to three wins on the week to extend their record to 5-0 on the year; the best start to a season for the program since 1986. Feehan averaged 33.3 points and 7.7 rebounds over the three games, totaling 100 points on the week. He tallied 35 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Robert Morris-Peoria and added 25 points against Knox. Feehan recorded 40 points in his team's come from behind win over Monmouth, scoring 37 of his points in the second-half. On the week he shot 50.9 percent from the field including 42.9 percent from three-point range while knocking down 34-of-35 free-throw attempts.

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - NOV. 28
ALEX MARTIN, SPALDING UNIVERSITY

Alex Martin, a sophomore from Louisville, Ky., helped the Golden Eagles extend their unbeaten streak to start the season to three games in a 70-51 win over Centre. Martin, a guard, was efficient in all aspects of the game while playing just 26 minutes in the contest. Martin tallied 14 points, on 6-of-11 shooting, while knocking down a pair of three-pointers. She also dished out six assists while committing no turnovers and added four rebounds and a steal in the win. On the season Spalding is 3-0 and Martin is averaging 10.3 points and 4.0 assists per game.

  • Adaku Anumu, Principia College (Men's Basketball) Anumu netted 40 points in his team's 89-71 win over Millikin, knocking down a school record 10 three-pointers in the game.
  • DeAndre Manuel, Blackburn College (Men's Basketball) Manuel was named to the Doc Snyder All-Tournament Team including a 19 point and 10 rebound game against Illinois-Springfield.
  • Kelsey Miller, Webster University (Women's Basketball) Miller averaged 16.5 points per game in two outings last week, shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
  • Jimmy Villalobos, Westminster College (Men's Basketball) Villalobos scored 36 points in a tough 104-103 loss to Nebraska Wesleyan.
  • Hunter Ward, Webster University (Men's Basketball) Ward was named to the Cavallo Classic All-Tournament Team, reaching the 1,000 point mark for his career in a contest against Wisconsin-LaCrosse and following with 24 points and seven assists in a win over Rust.
