SLIAC Players of the Week - December 19

The SLIAC Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week are Lexi Dooley, from Eureka College and Jake Maestranzi, from Blackburn College.

SLIAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - DEC. 19
JAKE MAESTRANZI, BLACKBURN COLLEGE

This week's SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week is Jake Maestranzi from Blackburn College. Maestranzi, a senior guard from Bartlett, Ill., was instrumental in helping the Beavers pick up a 90-70 road win over Fontbonne University. Maestranzi dished out a season high eight assists in the win while netting 17 points in the game as well from his point guard position. Maestranzi recorded nine of his points from the free-throw line, where he sank all nine attempts. In addition Maestranzi recorded three steals and committed just two turnovers in the game.

SLIAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - DEC. 19
LEXI DOOLEY, EUREKA COLLEGE

Lexi Dooley, from Eureka College, is this week's SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Dooley, a sophomore forward from Sutter, Ill., guided the Red Devils to a win over Webster in a battle of conference unbeatens last week. She scored 16 points in the game, going six-of-seven from the field, while grabbing 11 rebounds. Dooley also added two steals in the game. Dooley was a consistent force in the game, scoring in each quarter and helping Eureka hold the lead for the majority of the contest. She is averaging 8.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season while Eureka is the only remaining undefeated team in SLIAC play this year.
