Second Annual SLIAC Coaches vs. Cancer Totals Are In (April 8, 2017)
The final numbers for the second annual St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising partnership have come in, with the conference raising nearly $2800 in donations conference-wide.....MORE

This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is a meeting on the softball field between Fontbonne University and Westminster College. Fontbonne and Westminster are two of the three remaining undefeated teams in conference play this spring.....MORE

FINAL SLIAC WINTER STANDINGS

AROUND THE SLIAC

	The Blackburn men's golf team appears to be playing their best at the right time of the year. The Beavers placed 3rd out of 12 teams in the Illinois College McNaughton Memorial earlier this week, a field that included four other SLIAC member schools. The Beavers shot a season-low round of 304 at the event and were the top finisher among conference teams. Jordan McMillian led the Beavers with a 74, tying for 5th place.
	Kali George led the Red Devils softball team to a sweep of Harris-Stowe, doing her damage both at the plate and in the circle. George worked a compete-game one-hitter in an 8-0 win in the opener of the doubleheader, adding a home run in the win. Morgan Osborn drove in the only run of the second game, a 1-0 win for Eureka.
	The Fontbonne men's and women's soccer programs spent the past weekend volunteering for the Special Needs Soccer Association (SPENSA). Boys and girls, ages 5-21, spent the day at World Wide Technology Soccer Park playing games, practicing drills, and having fun with SPENSA volunteers. This is the second year the Griffins have volunteered at the event.
	The Greenville men's track and field team picked up an impressive win at the Millikin Big Blue Invite totaling 228.5 points, more than 80 points better than the closest competitor. The Panthers men's team had seven individual event winners. The women's team also picked up a win, finishing with 145 points and winning six individual events.
	The Tigers men's golf team placed 4th at the McNaughton Memorial earlier this week, finishing with a round of 308. The Tigers' Kiley Miller paced the Tigers with a 72, finishing second overall at the event. His teammate Michael Neff finished third overall with a 73. The Tigers face William Penn on Thursday in their final tune-up before the SLIAC Championship.
	MacMurray College will be holding various events all month long to raise awareness for sexual abuse. The college will hold weekly speaking engagements as well as planned events throughout April. For more information on MacMurray College's pledge to the "It's On Us" campaign click HERE
	The Panthers softball team picked up their first two conference wins of the season on Tuesday, sweeping MacMurray in a doubleheader. The Panthers won game one 2-1 with Leah Schaefer picking up the win in the circle. Game two saw the Panthers win 16-6, with Schaefer, Ashley Noville, and Hannah Hathaway all picking up two hits in the game.
	Spalding University formally announced plans to break ground on a $5.5 million athletic complex this fall. The athletic fields complex will host the Golden Eagle men's and women's soccer and softball teams,  while featuring two soccer fields, a softball field, locker rooms, storage, and concessions, on 7.4 acres between Eighth and Ninth Street.
	The Gorlok softball team pushed their winning streak to seven games with a sweep of Eureka last weekend. The Gorloks are now 19-8 overall and 7-1 in the SLIAC. They are led by a potent offense that has put up double-digit runs in nine games this season. The Gorloks return to action with games against Blackburn on Wednesday. They will host Greenville on Friday and Westminster on Saturday to close out the week.
	Westminster's Shannon McCaul continues her hot spring, adding two more wins at the Central Methodist Invite. McCaul placed first in the 800-meter race, finishing in a time of 2:24.13, and also took the top spot in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:47.02.
