Principia Makes It Four Straight In Men's Tennis (April 29, 2017)
The Principia College men's tennis team extended their St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament title streak to four after a 5-0 win over Greenville College in the championship match. Despite the 5-0 score, the championship match was a battle between the conference's two Panthers.....MORE
2017 SLIAC Softball Tournament Preview (May 3, 2017)
This weekend's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament will be all about newness. For the first time since 2012, the tournament will be played somewhere other than Elsah, Illinois. The tournament field will also include several "new" programs looking to leave their mark......MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

The Blackburn softball team played a spoiler role on Tuesday night by taking the second game of a doubleheader against Spalding. The Beavers exploded for 10 runs in the first game but fell 13-10. However, their hot bats continued in game two, out slugging Spalding 12-11 for the win. Blackburn closes out their season 13-19 overall and 5-13 in the SLIAC. Outfielder Danielle Burnell finished third in the conference with a .450 batting average. |

Eureka College softball head coach Debi Neff recently recorded her 100th career win with the Red Devils. Coach Neff reached the milestone in a doubleheader sweep of Knox College, picking up win number 100 in the second game of the day. The win was also the team's 21st win of the season, marking the first time the Red Devils have had back-to-back 20 win seasons since three in a row from 1994-96. |

It came down to the last moment but the Griffins softball team clinched the final spot in the tournament by sweeping Iowa Wesleyan on Tuesday night. Fontbonne received the help they needed earlier in the day and then took care of their own business, snapping a ten game losing streak. It marks the ninth consecutive year the Griffins have advanced to the SLIAC Softball Tournament, which will be held on their home field this weekend. |

The Greenville College men's and women's Track and Field teams swept the 2017 SLIAC Championships. The men's team cruised to a championship, totaling 337 team points, more than doubling the second place team. The Panthers women's team edged out a win as well, finishing with 238 team points; securing the title by taking all three top spots in the day's final event. |

Iowa Wesleyan announced Jack Bruns as the next women's basketball head coach. Bruns will become the 11th coach in program history and takes over after most recently serving as the University's Director of Career Development, Internships, and Service Learning. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for the Tigers men's basketball program and an admissions counselor. |

MacMurray College senior, former men's basketball player, Michael Cameron was given a piece of history on April 20th. Cameron spent last summer as an intern with the Chicago Cubs and was among the 1,908 players, staff members, team employees, and Hall of Famers to receive a World Series ring. Cameron is currently working towards a degree in Sport Management and Business Administration. |

One week after their women's team won the SLIAC Tournament, the Principia men's tennis team followed with a 5-0 win over Greenville in the men's tournament championship match. It marked the Panthers fourth consecutive title and their 15th in program history. Greg Sovie secured the winning point, winning 6-0, 6-4 at #2 singles. |

The Spalding baseball team comes into this weekend with a shot at winning the program's first-ever regular season SLIAC title. The Golden Eagles are currently tied with Webster with a 16-3 conference record. Spalding will be on the road against Greenville for a three-game series as they look to secure the title and top seed in the 2017 SLIAC Baseball Tournament. |

The Webster men's and women's track and field teams took second place at the conference championships. The women's team just missed the title, finishing with 208 points, just 30 behind the first-place team. The Gorloks dominated in the hurdles and had an impressive showing in the women's 4x400 relay. The men's team also took second, totaling 128 points. |

The Westminster softball team clinched the program's first-ever outright regular season SLIAC title after sweeping Greenville in a doubleheader last weekend. The Blue Jays finished the regular season with a 23-11 overall record and a 16-2 mark in conference play. The Blue Jays are the #1 seed in the upcoming SLIAC Tournament, which will run from Thursday to Saturday. |
