MacMurray College To Raise Money for Cystic Fibrosis (September 6, 2016)
MacMurray College, a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), will hold Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day on September 17th in Jacksonville, Ill. The event will take place during the SLIAC quad matches which will feature volleyball teams from Greenville College, Iowa Wesleyan University, MacMurray College and Webster University.....MORE
Foster Named Greenville Head Coach (September 1, 2016)
The Greenville College athletic department has selected Charles "Buddy" Foster, athletic director at Morthland College in West Frankfort, Ill., as its newest head softball coach. Foster spent 16 years as a softball coach at four NCAA Division I institutions before spending the last year as athletic director at Morthland.....MORE
Principia Kicks Off Year With Week of Giving (August 29, 2016)
Principia College once again kicked off the school year with a "Week of Giving". The fall athletic teams (men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, and volleyball) spent last week giving back to their community; helping various businesses and organizations throughout Alton and the St. Louis metro area....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn volleyball notched their first win of the 2016 season in a 3-1 win over North Central (Minn.) last weekend. The Beavers dropped the first three matches of the year but found the win column in their final match on Saturday. Emily Schroeder led the way for the Beavers with nine kills while Alanni Young added six total blocks. Earlier in the day senior libero Marlee Lindstrom recorded her 1,000th career dig. |

It was a memorable return to campus for first year head coach Rebecca Idell. Idell, a graduate of Eureka, secured her first collegiate coaching victory as Red Devil head coach with a 3-1 win over Knox. Junior Destiny Adkins paced the Red Devils with 20 kills while Lexi Dooley added 17 kills. Heather Robinson finished with 38 assists as well. The win was the program's first over Knox since 2008. |

Fontbonne senior outside hitter Kersten McDonough picked up SLIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors this week after recording 34 kills in two matches. McDonough hit .359 on the week, averaging 4.4 points per set. She had a high of 23 kills against Robert Morris-Springfield last week and currently leads the conference with an average of 4.25 kills per set. |

The defending SLIAC champions are off to a quick start in 2016 as the Panthers volleyball team went 4-1 during the season's opening week. After dropping their season opener Greenville rolled off four straight wins. Kirsten Laune currently ranks second in the league in assists while Allyson Grabowski is second in digs. Savannah Sells ranks third in kills and first in block assists. Greenville will host five matches this Saturday as they open up SLIAC play. |

The Tiger golf team opened up their 2016 falls season with a fifth place finish at the Clarke Fall Invite. The Tigers shot a team score of 325 with Michael Neff leading the way with a 74. Neff tied for the tournament's low score but lost in a tie-breaker, claiming the runner-up spot. Connor McLean finished just outside of the top five, finishing sixth with a score of 77. |

MacMurray College announced a partnership with Anytime Fitness. The agreement will provide students, faculty, and staff with a membership to Anytime Fitness in Jacksonville, Ill. Members will have access to the Anytime Fitness facilities during staff hours with an option to also receive 24-hour access with the purchase of a key fob. The current partnership will continue through June 15, 2017. |

The Principia men's soccer team notched their second win of the season on Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory of St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The Panthers have now won two straight games after dropping their opener. The first win of the season came in a thrilling 2-1 overtime win against Illinois College, in which Briggs Hurley scored in the final seconds of overtime. Tuesday's win saw the Panthers score three second-half goals for a 3-1 win over STLCOP. |

The Golden Eagles volleyball team is off to an impressive 3-0 start with wins over Franklin, Berea, and Centre; including two three set sweeps. It has been a balanced attack for Spalding this season with four players averaging two or more kills per set. Katelyn Cosgrove is leading the team in assists and ranks second in digs per set as well. Spalding will face Mount St. Joseph tonight and then play in the Hanover Invitational this weekend. |

The Gorloks volleyball team had a strong start to 2016, picking up four wins including a pair of wins in the competitive Washington University Invitational. The Gorloks opened the season with a sweep of St. Louis College of Pharmacy and then defeated Rose-Hulman and Knox. The Gorloks have been led by Jory Siebenmorgan, who is fourth in the SLIAC in kills. Katie O'Toole has led the defense, averaging a SLIAC high 6.0 digs per set. |

Westminster sophomore runner Jessie Kuykendall claimed SLIAC Women's Cross Country Player of the Week honors this week after opening her 2016 season with a second place finish at the Principia College Open. Kuykendall completed the 4K course in a time of 15:02, finishing nearly two minutes ahead of the closest SLIAC competitor and helping Westminster to a first place finish in the team competition. |
