Spalding Men's Soccer Participates In Community Soccer Clinic (September 16, 2016)
The Spalding University Men's Soccer traveled to the Walden School this past week for a community soccer clinic. The Walden School's athletic department is headed by former Spalding Soccer player and SU alum David Gross, who invited the SUMS staff and players out for an afternoon with their players.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: MacMurray at Eureka - Men's Soccer (September 20, 2016)
The Game of the Week will take place Saturday, September 24 in Eureka, Illinois at 4 p.m. MacMurray enters the game with a 2-4 overall record while Eureka is currently 2-0-1. Saturday's game will feature the top two scorers in the SLIAC; Eureka's James Bowen and MacMurray's Bernardo Oseguera going against each other.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

The Blackburn soccer programs have spent the month of September raising money for pediatric cancer research. The Beavers held several youth clinics, which were free for the community. Donations were accepted for attending. In addition the Beavers sold t-shirts and held a raffle with proceeds going directly to Cookies for Kid's Cancer.

The Eureka women's soccer team will finally return to action this week when they open up SLIAC play at home. The Red Devils have not played a game since Sept. 9, nearly two weeks ago. They return to the field on Wednesday with a game against Blackburn and then host MacMurray on Saturday. The Red Devils are currently 1-1 on the year.
Fontbonne senior goalkeeper Tayler Pulvirenti was named the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Pulvirenti stopped 10 shots over two games last week. She allowed just one goal and finished with a .909 save percentage while helping the Griffins go 1-1 on the week.
The Greenville volleyball team powered their way to a 3-1 win over Webster in last week's SLIAC Game of the Week. The Panthers remain one of just two undefeated teams in SLIAC play after winning 25-22, 25-12, 17-25, 25-23. For the full story click HERE

The busy month for the Tigers men's soccer team continues as they will play two more games this week. By the time the month is over the Tigers will have played 11 games this month. After winning their 2016 opener against Crown (Minn.) the Tigers are still looking for their second mark in the win column. They have suffered some tough luck losses, with three losses by one goal. They host Coe and Blackburn this week as they look for win #2.

MacMurray College recently launched a new athletics website. The new site, designed by Sidearm Sports, can be seen by going to www.mchighlanders.com

The Principia volleyball team has won three of their last four matches, all conference matches, with each win being a 3-0 sweep of their opponent. After defeating Blackburn and Fontbonne in their last two outings the Panthers will step out of conference this weekend with four matches at the Illinois College Tournament. Principia is currently 5-4 overall and 3-4 in the SLIAC.
Spalding University women's soccer player Alyssa Logan accepted the 2016 Courage Award at the Louisville Women's Sports Network WISH Awards Tuesday evening at the Crowne Plaza. The Courage Award is given annually to one athlete who overcomes adversity, and displays courage through their journey serving as a role model for female athletics throughout the Louisville sports community.....FULL STORY
Webster's annual Dig Pink night will be held the weekend of October 7-8. There will be silent auction items, raffles, and contests to raise money for the Side Out Foundation all weekend long. The Gorloks will host Spalding University on that Friday and Principia College and Iowa Wesleyan on that Saturday. If you can't make the matches that weekend you can still donate by going HERE
Westminster swept the SLIAC Cross Country Player of the Week awards this week with Glenn Teubner and Jessie Kuykendall taking home the awards. Teubner finished second overall in his 8K race, running a personal best time of 26:16. Kuykendall was third overall in her 5K race and set a new program record with a time of 18:45.
