One night after suffering a five set loss to Fontbonne University the Spalding University volleyball team responded on Saturday with their biggest win of the 2016 season so far, handing Westminster College their first conference loss of the year.....MORE

This week's SLIAC Game of the Week will be Wednesday night when Webster University heads to Westminster College in a rematch of last year's SLIAC Women's Soccer Championship game. The game will be held in Fulton, Mo. with game time set for 5 p.m.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC
The Blackburn women's soccer team won their third straight game this weekend, with a 10-0 victory over Eureka. Blackburn is now 5-6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. This marks the first time the Beavers have won three straight since winning three in a row in early September 2015. The Beavers return to action with games against MacMurray on Wednesday and Spalding on Saturday. |

A pair of former SLIAC standouts from Eureka are among those that will be inducted into the Eureka College Hall of Fame. Cathy Kalnicky, who was a three time SLIAC Softball All-Conference honorable mention and Michael Zasada, who is second on the all-time rebound list for the Red Devils are part of the group of six being honored at Homecoming. The Fontbonne soccer programs faced tough competition on Tuesday night, facing nationally ranked Washington University-St. Louis in a men's and women's soccer double header. On the women's side the Griffins had their four game winning streak snapped in a 2-0 loss to the #15 ranked Bears. On the men's side the #8 ranked Bears edged out Fontbonne 1-0, with the game's only goal coming in the 77th minute. |

Greenville College cheerleading will hold a fall stunt clinic on November 12 at HJ Long Gym on the campus of Greenville College. The clinic will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $25 per participant and includes a t-shirt. The clinic will cover the foundations and fundementals of stunting, advanced and elite skills, and co-ed partner stunting. Registration deadline is October 31st. Last week the Tiger volleyball squad stopped their seven game losing streak by defeating Blackburn 3-1; 26-28, 25-23, 25-21, 25-14. After dropping the opening set the Tigers rolled off three straight to pick up their fifth win of the season. Cassandra Schwamborn led the way with 18 kills and Maddison Hiland adding 11 kills. Ariel Smale finished with 41 assists and Cierra Howard chipped in with 35 digs. |

MacMurray junior forward Lyndi Saccaro has quickly etched her name into the Highlander women's soccer record book. In just her second season with the team Saccaro has already become the program's career leader in goals. She picked up her 30th goal of her career in the second-half against Eureka College on September 27th. Saccaro broke the previous record of 29 held by Lori Simpson, class of 2002. |

The Principia women's soccer team notched their second win of the season over the weekend, defeating Greenville 3-1 for their first conference victory. Tanya Marquardt scored the first goal of the game to put Principia up early while Clarice Bruch added two second-half goals to secure the win. The win snapped Principia's three game losing streak and improves the team to 2-7 overall this year. They return to action with games against Spalding and Iowa Wesleyan this week. |

Spalding swept SLIAC Soccer Defensive Players of the Week this week as Ryan Glynn and Kelsey Kaiser blanked their opponents to give their team's key wins. Glynn stopped all eight shots in a 1-0 win over Westminster, blanking the league's top scoring team and picking up his SLIAC best third shutout of the season. Kaiser picked up her second shutout of the year in a 1-0 win over Westminster, making seven saves. | |
Jory Siebenmorgen powered the Gorloks to a pair of big conference wins last week en route to garnering SLIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors. Siebenmorgen totaled a season high 17 kills, while hitting .371, in a 3-2 win over Greenville. She added 10 total blocks in the match. Against Blackburn she finished with 13 kills, hitting .600. On the week Siebenmorgen recorded 30 kills while hitting .455 with 13 total blocks. |

The Westminster women's soccer team will host this week's SLIAC Game of the Week when they face Webster University on Wednesday night in a rematch of the 2015 SLIAC Women's Soccer Championship game. That game finished in a 0-0 tie with Westminster advancing 5-4 on penalty kicks. The Blue Jays are looking for a repeat October from last year, when a 6-2 record in the month propelled them to a strong finish. |
