Feature Friday with Greg Ferry (October 7, 2016)
In this week's Feature Friday we talked with Principia College women's soccer player Clarice Bruch. Clarice, a theater major, talks about her favorite character she has played and spending the summer in Iceland.....MORE

Spalding's Diehl With Historic Performance (October 8, 2016)
Senior Jessica Diehl set a new school record for hitting percentage to lead the Spalding University volleyball team to a sweep over Webster University, 3-0, taking the sets 25-17, 25-17, and 29-27. This is SU's second consecutive SLIAC win, improving their record to 6-3 in SLIAC play, and 12-7 overall.....MORE

SLIAC Game of the Week: Fontbonne at Blackburn - Men's Soccer (October 11, 2016)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is on Saturday when the Fontbonne University and Blackburn College men's soccer teams take the pitch in a pivotal game for the conference standings. The two teams will play in Carlinville, Illinois with game time set for 3 p.m.....MORE

SLIAC FALL STANDINGS

AROUND THE SLIAC

	The Blackburn golf team hosted an invitational over the weekend that featured two other SLIAC programs, Greenville and MacMurray. It was the final event of the fall season for the Beavers and they placed five golfers in the top ten of individual finishers. Jordan McMillen led the way for Blackburn by shooting a 79 and finishing fourth overall while Trenton Easley shot an 80 to finish in fifth. For a full list of the results click HERE
	The Eureka volleyball team has already recorded five conference wins this season, their most the 2011 season when they finished with six wins. And with seven SLIAC matches remaining the Red Devils have a chance at finishing with the most SLIAC wins in program history, which is eight set in the 2007 season. The Red Devils have an out of conference match against Monmouth on Thursday before returning to conference play this weekend with matches against Blackburn, Spalding, and MacMurray.
	The Fontbonne volleyball squad has won two straight matches, snapping their five match losing streak. The Griffins found their way back into the win column with victories over Eureka and Blackburn. The Griffins topped Eureka 3-1 and picked up a 3-0 sweep of Blackburn early this week. The Griffins return to action with matches against Spalding and MacMurray this Saturday.
	The Panther men's soccer team has been playing some close games as of late, going 1-1-2 in their last four games. They defeated Principia 3-1 for their first conference win of the year. They followed with ties against Millikin and Westminster, sandwiching a 2-1 loss to Fontbonne. The Panthers play their next two games on the road, at MacMurray and at Spalding before returning to campus on Oct. 22 for a homecoming game against Iowa Wesleyan.
	The Iowa Wesleyan golf team placed 5th in the 11 team filed at the William Penn Classic over the weekend. The Tigers' Connor McLean led the way with a two day score of 143, finishing 7th individually. McLean also had one of just seven rounds under 70 in the tournament, shooting a second round 69. Bo Vitale (13th) and Blake Forsythe (18th) also finished in the top 20 with Vitale shooting a 147 and Forsythe a 151.
	The MacMurray men's soccer team got back into the win column with a 2-1 win over Lincoln Christian on Tuesday afternoon. The win was their first in nearly a month and pushes their record to 3-8-1 overall this season. The Highlanders will now be looking for their first conference win this season as they host Greenville on Saturday.
	The Principia volleyball team has won two straight and three of their last four matches to improve to 13-9 overall this season. The Panthers face Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday as they look to improve on their 6-7 conference record. Emily Tippetts leads the Panthers with 3.57 kills per set, ranking fourth in the SLIAC, while setter Devon Marunde is third in the conference with 9.01 assists per set.
	The Spalding men's soccer team is the hottest team in the league right now, having won five straight games including four conference games. The Golden Eagles are now 6-6 overall and 4-0 in the conference and sit atop the SLIAC standings. Spalding is at home for their next two games when they host Eureka on Saturday and Greenville next Wednesday.
	The Gorlok women's soccer team opened up the month of October with three dominating performances, outscoring their opponents 30-0 in the three wins. The Gorloks are now 4-0 in conference play and 6-6 overall. They are on the road at Principia at Saturday for another conference game before playing their final non-conference game on Monday when they host Loras.
	Five new honorees were inducted into the Westminster College Athletics Hall of Fame last weekend in conjunction with Homecoming. Four of the inductees have ties to the SLIAC; McEwen was head men's basketball coach for the Blue Jays while Zastrow was a two sport athlete playing women's basketball and volleyball. Meanwhile both Squires and Stanley were members of the Blue Jay football team in the late 1990's when the time the SLIAC sponsored football.....MORE
