Panthers With Record Night In Win (November 23, 2016)
The Greenville College men's basketball team obliterated the school record for points in a game as they picked up a 178-125 victory over Lincoln Christian on Tuesday and in the process tied the NCAA Division III record for three-point field goals made in a game with 37. In addition the two teams combined to set a new NCAA Division III record for combined three-point field goals made with 48.....MORE
Zalis Scores 1,000th Point in Blue Jay Career (November 23, 2016)
Westminster College senior Andrea Zalis scored her 1,000th career point in the Blue Jay loss to William Woods, 73-61. The Blue Jays fall to 0-4 while the Owls improve to 4-3.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

The Blackburn men's basketball team hung with Division II University of Illinois-Springfield for the first-half on Tuesday night but faded in the second-half, falling 90-74. The Beavers trailed by just two with under two-minutes left in the first-half however the Prairie Stars scored the final five points of the half and took a 39-32 lead into the break. The Prairie Stars continued that momentum in the second half and used it to pull away from the Beavers. DeAndre Manuel led Blackburn with 19 points and 10 rebounds. |

The Eureka men's basketball team is off to a quick start in 2016, winning their first three games. It marks the first time the Red Devils have opened a year with three straight wins since the 2012-13 season. They started the season with a 95-81 win over Dominican, marking the most points in a season opener since 1976. They have followed with wins over Rockford and Robert Morris-Peoria. |

The Fontbonne baseball team may still be a couple of months away from their first game but they recently spent the weekend together off the field and giving back to their community. Last Saturday the Griffins got into the holiday season by working at the Shining Light Tree Lot. A total of 36 Griffins helped unload Christmas trees and put them on display. Proceeds from the sales of the threes benefit the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments. The tree lot is located at McCarthy Building Companies in Rock Hill, Mo. |

The Greenville women's basketball team rolled to a 77-47 win over Lincoln Christian on Tuesday night to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Panthers held a 31-24 halftime lead before pulling away. Greenville put up 28 points in the third quarter to take control of the game. Claire Schmitt led Greenville with 13 points while Laura Goodnight and Wesley Woodard each added 12 points. The Panthers will enjoy their Thanksgiving break before getting into SLIAC play next Wednesday (Nov. 30) when they face Webster. |

The Iowa Wesleyan men's basketball team picked up their first win of the season on Sunday with a thrilling 111-102 double overtime win over Marian. The Tigers were playing in the consolation game of the Buzz Levick Tournament hosted by Wartburg College. The Tigers overcame an 11-point deficit in the final five minutes of regulation thanks in large part to the performance of Steven Soukup who finished with 40 points and 10 rebounds. |

MacMurray freshman guard Destyne Powell had a strong showing in her first week of collegiate ball for the MacMurray women's basketball team. Powell was named to the Guilford Classic All-Tournament team after averaging 13.5 points per game. She shot 39-percent from the field during the tournament, going 7-for-9 from the free-throw line, while also averaging 3.0 assists per game. The Highlanders are currently 0-3 on the season and return to action on Monday against Millikin. |

Last year's top scorer in the conference, Adaku Anumu, finally got on track this season in helping the Panthers pick up their first win of the year, an 89-71 victory over Milliking. Anumu, who had just 40 combined points in his first three games of the season exploded for 40 points in Tuesday night's win over Millikin. Anumu was 15-of-22 from the field including knocking down 10 three-pointers. Principia is now 1-3 on the season and returns to action next Tuesday against Spalding. |

Spalding continued their undefeated run to open the season with a 70-51 win over Centre on Tuesday night. Maya Hardin netted a game-high 16 points while also dishing out five assists. Alex Martin added 14 points, six assists, and four rebounds. The Golden Eagles are now 3-0 on the year and have a week off before returning to action against Morthland next Tuesday. |

The Gorlok women's basketball team rolled to an 87-38 win over Morthland, improving their record to 3-0 on the year. The Gorloks put up 26 points in the opening quarter to take control of the game early and secured the win by scoring 28 points in the third quarter. The 49-point margin of victory was the second highest in team history while the Gorloks also set a program record with 64 rebounds in the game. Kelsey Miller led Webster with 14 points. This is the first time since the 2001-02 season the Gorloks have opened the year with three straight wins. |

The Westminster men's basketball team picked up two wins in the opening weekend of the season, defeating Millikin and Elmhurst. Romo Tabb has led the Blue Jays in scoring in each of the first two games with 19 points against Millikin and 23 points against Elmhurst. The Blue Jays will spend the weekend in Nebraska where they will face Cornell College on Friday and Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday as they compete in the NWU Doc Snyder Tournament. |
