Ward Reaches Milestone For Webster (November 26, 2016)
Hunter Ward became the 11th player in Gorlok men's basketball history to top the 1000 point mark as Webster lost to the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, 79-56, in the Cavallo Classic on November 25 at Grant Gymnasium. The Eagles had a run to end the first half on top, then took control in the second half as they pulled away from the Gorloks.....MORE
SLIAC Game of the Week: Eureka at Blackburn (November 29, 2016)
This week's SLIAC Game of the Week is the men's basketball conference opener for Eureka College and Blackburn College. The game is set for an 8 p.m. start in Carlinville, Illinois on Wednesday, November 30th.....MORE
Four From SLIAC Named NSCAA All-Region (November 30, 2016)
Four players from St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools were named to the 2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III All-Central Region Team. Players from Fontbonne University, Spalding University, and Webster University were all represented on All-Region team.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC

Blackburn will host this week's SLIAC Game of the Week when they welcome Eureka College on Wednesday night in a men's contest. Blackburn is currently 3-3 overall and are coming off an 82-67 win over Cornell College last Saturday. The Beavers emphasize play on the outside, ranking second in the league in both three-point percentage and second in opponents three-point percentage. DeAndre Manuel is leading the team at 15.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. |

The Red Devil women's basketball team tips off their 2016-17 conference play at Blackburn on Wednesday. The Red Devils are currently 3-3 overall and will be looking to recover from a 103-59 loss to Bradley on Sunday. After their game against Blackburn the Red Devils continue their conference trip with a game against Spalding on Saturday. The Red Devils are in the midst of an eight game road schedule and will not play at home again until January 1st when they host Rust. |

Fontbonne opens up SLIAC play on Wednesday night when they head to Westminster College for a conference double header. The Griffins men's team is currently 0-2 on the season after losses to Maryville and Augustana while the women's team is 1-3, dropping three straight after winning their opener against Dallas Christian. The Griffins first home conference games will be on Saturday when they host MacMurray in a double header. |

The Greenville men's basketball team continued their hot start to the season with a 125-109 win over Transylvania on Monday night. The Panthers are now 5-1 overall this season and will get to conference action this week when they travel to Webster on Wednesday night and host Westminster on Saturday. Greenville is currently averaging 136.0 points per game this season, second most in NCAA Division III this year. |

The Tigers women's team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, defeating Grinnell 66-38, and improving to 1-4 overall. The Tigers held Grinnell to just 12 points through the first two quarters and closed out the game by scoring 20 points in the fourth. Four different Tigers scored in double figures with Darby Massner leading the way with 18 points. Cairece Allen added 11 points and 10 rebounds with five steals as Iowa Wesleyan shot 56-percent from the floor. |

The MacMurray women's basketball team hosted a Special Olympics event during their game Monday against Millikin University. MacMurray welcomed the Jacksonville Saints and the Orange Crush Special Olympics basketball teams, with the two playing an eight minute scrimmage during halftime of the Highlanders game. Donations for the Jacksonville Special Olympics program were collected throughout the evening. |

The Principia men's basketball team opened up conference play with a 65-54 win over Spalding on Tuesday night. The Panthers jumped out to a 35-23 halftime lead as their offense was on a roll, hitting on 53-percent of their shots. Adaku Anumu was the high scorer for Principia with 16 points while Micah Paulson and Parker Davidson each added 14 points. Trevaughn Goodman chipped in with 12 points off the bench. The Panthers return to action on Saturday when they host Webster at 2 p.m. |

Nick Trisko scored a career high 33 points on Tuesday night, matching his jersey number. Trisko was 13-of-19 from the floor and knocked down all seven of his free-throws in the game. He is averaging 14.8 points per game this season, shooting 54-percent from the field while averaging a conference best 11.0 rebounds per game. Trisko was a Second Team All-Conference performer last year. |

The Webster men's basketball team picked up their first win of the season in a 99-81 victory over Rust. The Gorloks were on fire, shooting 58-percent from the field while knocking down 12-of-16 three-point attempts in the game. Hunter Ward led Webster with 24 points while dishing out seven assists. Xavier Dortch came off the bench to score 20 points, in just 18 minutes, thanks in large part to connecting on five three-pointers. |

The Blue Jays women's team found the win column for the first time this season on Saturday when they topped Rhodes 70-48. The Blue Jays used a big second quarter to open the game up, out scoring their opponent 16-7 in the frame. Westminster's Brooke Stauffer came off the bench to lead her team with 14 points. Ali Perry added 13 points and seven rebounds while Mirrakohl Johnson finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. The Blue Jays out rebounded Rhodes by 20 in the game and out scored them 40-12 in the paint. |
