Spalding University 'GOLDEN EAGLES' Spalding had their four-game winning streak stopped on Monday night in a loss to Greenville. Still, the Golden Eagles winning streak brought them back into playoff contention as they are now 6-4 in the SLIAC and 8-8 overall. Spalding leads all conference teams by allowing just 73.1 points per game this season, thanks in large part to slowing the game down and running their half-court offense. That offense is led by Dominique Ellis, 14.8 points per game. Brandon Williams is another option for the Golden Eagles, averaging 11.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Freshmen Robert Bendingfield, Marcus Montgomery, and Cornelius Watts have all shown the ability to make an impact on the court at times this season. |
