Eureka College 'RED DEVILS'

Eureka faces Spalding in a road doubleheader on Wednesday to continue their run of SLIAC games after playing Greenville last Friday. The Red Devils are 3-5-1 overall this season and are in the middle of nine straight conference contests.

Eureka is hitting .237 as a team and averaging 4.4 runs per game, both ranking 10th in the league but up from last year. Coming into this week Fontbonne had played the most games (17) in the SLIAC this season but had yet to play their first conference games. They are scheduled to face MacMurray in a doubleheader on Wednesday to open up SLIAC. The Griffins are 8-9 overall but have dropped three straight as they enter the week.

The Griffins are hitting .289 as a team this season and have scored 90 runs, which is 5th in the conference. They are aggressive on the basepath with 31 steals this year and are 5th in the league with a 4.51 team E.R.A.

All-Conference performer Ryan Schocker has gotten off to a bit of a slow start, hitting .275, but remains a run producer with 15 runs batted in.

Luke Summers and Levi Earnest have each made five starts this year with Summers holding a 2.40 earned-run average over 30 innings and putting together a 3-1 record while averaging a strikeout per inning. Reliever Brett Lange has been lights out coming out of the pen with a 3.00 E.R.A. and 35 strikeouts in just 24 innings.

Mullin finished the game 2-for-4 with 5 RBI while Patrick Shuff led the Griffins with three hits.
