SLIAC Players of the Week - September 11
Half the schools from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference are represented in this week's SLIAC Players of the Week award winners. Receiving honors this week are Nick Holland, from Greenville University; Kaleb Keller, from Principia College; Jessie Kuykendall, from Westminster College; Aly Miller, from Webster University; Claudia Spivey, from Spalding University; Emily Tippetts, from Principia College; Paige Townsend, from Westminster College; and Shane Witters-Hicks, from Principia College.

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Kaleb Keller, Principia College Kaleb Keller, a freshman forward from St. Louis, Mo., continued his hot start to the season by tallying four goals and an assist in his team's 5-1 win over Monmouth. Keller scored two goals late in the first-half before adding two more in the second-half as the Panthers secured their first win of the season in come from behind fashion. Keller now has a conference high 11 points this fall. |

SLIAC MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Nick Holland, Greenville University Holland, a sophomore from Ajax, Ontario, recorded eights saves and one shutout last week while allowing just one goal. The lone goal he allowed came after 75 scoreless minutes against Rose-Hulman, making two saves in the game. He followed with his first career shutout in a six save effort against Coe. He finished the week with a .889 save percentage. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Paige Townsend, Westminster College Townsend, a forward for Westminster, guided the Blue Jays to their first two wins of the year. Townsend scored two goals in a 5-1 win over Lakeland, scoring on just four shots on goal. She followed with a goal and two assists in her team's 9-0 win over Alverno. On the week Townsend finished with eight points on three goals and two assists. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Aly Miller, Webster University Miller, a sophomore from Middleville, Mich., picked up the win in net for the Gorloks in their 2-1 overtime victory over Elmhurst. Miller came off the bench to play the final 58:30 of the game and made four saves including a clearing of a loose ball in the box during overtime. |

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Emily Tippetts, Principia College Tippetts, a junior middle blocker from Austin, Texas, averaged an impressive 4.7 kills and 5.1 points per set over three conference matches last week. Her high of 19 kills came in a win over Blackburn and she reached double digits in kills in all three matches while hitting .264 on the week. |

SLIAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Claudia Spivey, Spalding University Spivey, a freshman from Memphis, Tenn., made her presence known at the net for the Golden Eagles. She sparked the Spalding defense last week, leading them to their first two wins of the season. Spivey recorded seven total blocks in a win over MacMurray and followed with five blocks in a win over Fontbonne. On the week she totaled 13 blocks, averaging 1.18 blocks per set. |

SLIAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Shane Witters-Hicks, Principia College Witters-Hicks picks up his second weekly award in as many weeks after a top five finish at the Les Duke Invitational. Witters-Hicks, from Golden, Colo., ran a personal best of 25:14 over the 8K course, finishing 4th out of 163 runners in the field. |

SLIAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLAYER OF THE WEEK - SEPT. 11 Jessie Kuykendall, Westminster College For the second consecutive week, Jessie Kuykendall takes home the women's cross country weekly award. Kuykendall, from Warsaw, Mo., took 2nd place at the CMU Eagle Invite. Kuykendall missed first by just 1.1 seconds as the race came down to the final kick. She completed the 5K course in a time of 19:01, helping Westminster to a 3rd place team finish. |
